Wage Range: $119,454 - $191,110 per year

Job Summary 
Accountable for leading and executing strategic growth, optimization, and business development initiatives across EvergreenHealth Medical Group service lines. Partners with clinical, operational, finance, supply chain, and IT leadership to analyze, prioritize, and oversee a portfolio of high-impact projects aimed at improving access, efficiency, margin, and service expansion. Responsible for translating strategy into measurable results while promoting cross-functional operational excellence and continuous improvement.    
 
Primary Duties:
  1. Analyzes the current service line project portfolio. Prioritizes initiatives based on return-on-investment (ROI), risk, resource requirements, and strategic alignment.
  2. Provides end-to-end oversight from business case development through implementation and measurement of outcomes.
  3. Develops project charters, timelines, governance structure, and dashboards. Reports status to service line leadership and medical group executive team.
  4. Improves workflow, provider scheduling templates, and clinic access to drive utilization, reduces wait times, and maximize capacity.
  5. Monitors key utilization and efficiency metrics including next-available appointment, clinic fill rate, patient throughput, and no-show reduction.
  6. Partners with ambulatory operations, IT, and clinical leadership to implement lean processes, automation, or scheduling redesigns.
  7. Utilizes market analysis and competitive assessments to identify and evaluate new program opportunities, such as expanding service lines, ambulatory procedural sites, and partnerships.
  8. Develops business models and proforma for growth opportunities, using financial forecasting and access metrics such as volumes, referrals, and catchment area.
  9. Supports launch of and tracks new service lines.  Monitors access growth and measures market penetration.
  10. Acts as the primary liaison for service-line vendor relationships and oversees implementation of emerging procedures and technologies such as platelet rich plasma, Iovera, Intracept, negative-pressure wound therapy, cryotherapy, etc.
  11. Collaborates with supply chain, Value Analysis Team (VAT), and clinical leaders to optimize usage, negotiate contracts, reduce supply costs, and realize ROI from technology investments.
  12. Documents business cases, supports adoption of innovative technologies, and track savings that contribute to margin improvement and clinical differentiation.
  13. Partners with Service Line Leaders to support service-line program development opportunities, such as cash-pay patient services and physician recruitment/acquisitions.
  14. Models the expected ROI and assesses impacts for programs, tracks performance against targets, and iterates business plans as required.
  15. Partners with medical group leadership to model ROI on recruitment of physicians, APPs, and allied clinicians aligned to service line growth.
  16. Coordinates with physician leadership to align program strategy with operational capacity and growth plans.
  17. Assists with process improvement activities for provider onboarding, compensation approval workflows, provider productivity, credentialing, and compliance, ensuring alignment with market benchmarks and fair-market-value standards.
  18. Partners with Service Line Leaders to oversee initiatives that optimize ancillary services such as therapies, diagnostics, and surgical in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
  19. Focuses on improving billing capture, utilization, payer mix, and increasing margin for ancillary support teams.
  20. Collaborates with leadership and finance to monitor ancillary service performance and identify opportunities for improved efficiency and revenue growth.
  21. Creates system-wide service line planning and reporting processes by developing develops committee infrastructure and guidelines for business development activities.
  22. Enhances service line performance by supporting IT infrastructure, digital health initiatives, workflow redesign, and AI/analytics implementation.
  23. Performs retrospective analyses of historical performance data and utilities real-time business reporting to inform and guide service line strategy and decision-making.
  24. Provides actionable insights and recommendations to medical group leadership from business intelligence, performance analytics, and market trends.
  25. May be responsible for onboarding new clinics.
  26. Establishes a working culture that reflects the vision, mission, leadership principles, and values of EvergreenHealth.
  27. Develops, initiates, implements, and manages organization and business process designs to provide patient centered care and effective and efficient operations.
  28. Performs other duties as assigned.
License, Certification, Education or Experience: 
REQUIRED for the position:
 
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, healthcare administration, finance, or related field.
  • 5 years of experience in healthcare service line management, business development, or operational improvement in a multi-site health system
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a portfolio of projects, with proven track record in driving ROI, growth, or operational improvement.
  • Strong financial acumen, including budgeting, proforma development, profit and loss ownership, and vendor contract management.
  • Excellent analytical skills with proficiency in data interpretation, reporting, dashboard development, and performance metrics.
  • Outstanding communication, collaboration, and influencing skills with clinical, operational, physician, and administrative stakeholders.
 
DESIRED for the position:
  • Master’s Degree (e.g. MBA, MHA)
  • Experience interfacing with high level leadership and physicians
  • Experience in an ambulatory or inpatient healthcare setting
  • Experience with project management and change management
  • Training in quality improvement techniques (Lean or Six Sigma)
  • Familiarity with service line optimization, and ambulatory operations
