Radiation Therapist - per diem
Description
Wage Range: $50.08 - $80.13 per hour plus per diem premium
Posted wage ranges represent the entire range from minimum to maximum. For jobs with more than one level, the posted range reflects the minimum of the lowest level and the maximum of the highest level. Some positions also offer additional premiums based on shift, certifications or degrees. Job offers are determined based on a candidate's years of relevant experience, level of education and internal equity.
Job Summary:
Under the general direction of the Radiation Oncologists and the Department Manager, the Radiation Therapist uses his/her technical abilities to simulate and/or deliver a prescribed course of radiation therapy.

Note: Recent graduates of Bellevue College School of Radiation Therapy who are pending ARRT certification and WA State License will be under direct supervision of certified/licensed staff until requirements are met.
Primary Duties:
1. Performs guidance procedures using imaging technology.
2. Follows department Dosimetry guidelines to verify the mathematical accuracy of the prescription.
3. Determines that all technical procedures are delivered accurately and safely on a daily basis in order to provide the patient with the highest quality of care.
4. Observes the clinical process of the patient undergoing radiation therapy, recognize the first signs of any complications, and determines when treatment should be withheld until a physician may be consulted. Has patient see a physician routinely as needed.
5. Provides patient care and comfort essential to radiation therapy procedures
6. Performs other duties as assigned.

License, Certification, Education or Experience:
REQUIRED for the position:
* Board eligible (applies only to recent graduates of Bellevue College Radiation Therapy School who become certified within one year of hire date) or possess a current, unrestricted certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) in Radiation Therapy
* WA License pending (applies only to recent graduates of Bellevue College Radiation Therapy School who remain ARRT board eligible) or possess a current Radiation Therapist License for the state of Washington
* Current BLS for Healthcare Providers by date of hire
* Board eligible (applies only to recent graduates of Bellevue College Radiation Therapy School who become certified within one year of hire date) or possess a current, unrestricted certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) in Radiation Therapy
* WA License pending (applies only to recent graduates of Bellevue College Radiation Therapy School who remain ARRT board eligible) or possess a current Radiation Therapist License for the state of Washington

* Recent work experience as a radiation therapist or a recent graduate of an accredited Radiation Therapy technology school
