Wage Range: $44.31 - $70.90 per hour
Posted wage ranges represent the entire range from minimum to maximum. For jobs with more than one level, the posted range reflects the minimum of the lowest level and the maximum of the highest level. Some positions also offer additional premiums based on shift, certifications or degrees. Job offers are determined based on a candidate's years of relevant experience, level of education and internal equity.
Job Summary
Responsible for providing Lymphedema and Oncology Rehabilitation, designed to return patients to their optimum functional level, in coordination with other team members.

Primary Duties:
- Performs individualized evaluation and ongoing assessment related to the patient’s condition, addressing special needs and behaviors.
- Develops treatment goals, in conjunction with the interdisciplinary team, that are time specific and result in discharge of the patient to his home environment attaining the highest level of function possible.
- Develops the treatment plan and revises as necessary from the goals set by the interdisciplinary team in coordination with the physician, the patient and the family.
- Assumes responsibility for instruction and supervision of Therapy Aides in patient care activities as appropriate within hospital policies and procedures and medical regulations.
- Accountable for following the guidelines for attendance, punctuality and overall dependability. Accountable for effective performance and follow-through of all assigned responsibilities and for completing responsibilities within designated (or agreed upon) timeframes. Completes responsibilities in a manner consistent with organizational policy, goals and values.
- Patient instruction in an appropriately dosed exercise program to promote lymphatic circulation.
- Patient education for the development of a home program for the long-term management of their lymphedema
- Patient education regarding skin care practices for lymphedema and infection risk reduction
- Application of compression bandaging
- Manual lymphatic drainage
- Measuring and fitting with appropriate compression garments
- Evaluation, treatment and differential diagnosis of axillary web syndrome, postural and scapular dysfunction and upper quadrant soft tissue changes following breast cancer surgery/reconstruction and radiation therapy.
- Provide lymphedema education as well as instruction in lymphedema and infection risk reduction practices.
- Provide instruction in exercise guidelines and implement exercise programs for lymphedema prevention.
License, Certification, Education, or Experience:
REQUIRED for the position:
- Licensed as a Physical Therapist in the State of Washington
- Baccalaureate, Master’s Degree, or certificate in Physical Therapy
- Current Healthcare Provider BLS certification by date of hire
- Knowledge and training in the special needs of patients from young adult to geriatric ages and is responsible for the needs associated with these groups.
DESIRED for the position:
- 2 years of experience in Lymphedema and Breast Cancer Rehabilitation
- Lymphedema Rehabilitation Certified from an accredited lymphedema program
- Skilled in components of Complete Decongestive Therapy (CDT)
- Knowledgeable regarding forms of Breast Cancer, diagnostics, treatment approaches, and side effects of Breast Cancer treatments
