Job Title: Director, Marketing & Business Development

  • Manage the creation and implementation of marketing communications activities that enhance MediaCom’s image and position among relevant stakeholders including current and prospective clients, staff, press, the agency network and prospects and influencers in the marketplace
  • Ensure that messages are distributed across all appropriate communications platforms, which may include internal email, outside press, intranet, website, mobile and other digital channels
  • Manage relationship with MediaCom external PR agency and act as internal liaison; coordinate distribution and approval process for press releases
  • Help create and write announcements and correspondence within the agency
  • Work with global marketing team on coordination of and content creation for internal and external marketing initiatives
  • Ensure implementation of global marketing initiatives within local market
  • Provide marketing support to new business and business development teams as needed, including creation and development of content and marketing collateral for pitching and prospecting
  • Oversee the social media marketing activities
  • Oversee production of collateral materials, including posters, signs and brochures
  • Ensure MediaCom’s branding is reflected in physical space across offices
  • Work to ensure consistency of corporate messaging across departments and provide writing or editing assistance as needed
  • Develop best practices for marketing processes and play a key role in identifying process issues and solutions
    • Provide thought leadership and direction for marketing strategy
    • Lead projects as assigned, such as cause-related marketing and special events
  • Other responsibilities as assigned

Business Development

  • Management of new business development – prospecting, sourcing, outreach and negotiation, culminating in the achievement of annually set commercial revenue targets
  • Develop and manage a process for defining and developing new business leads
  • Create business development plans, focused on revenue growth via existing and new initiatives leveraging agency's individual and collective assets: planning, investment, business science, research/insights, MBA, digital, etc.
  • Increase top-of-mind awareness with specific target prospects and within the advertising community at-large
  • Create and maintain a prospect client listactively sourcing new or potential additions
  • Provide competitor and market analysis for identified new business targets
  • Serve as a strategic liaison among prospect, account team and agency management, demonstrating in-depth knowledge of our business
  • Identify opportunities for senior leadership attendance / participation in industry events, associations, and conferences.
  • Manage the creation of collateral to be used in pitches (i.e Creds documents, bios etc)
  • Attend / participate in industry events, associations, and conferences raising MediaCom’s profile

  • Working knowledge of Salesforce software considered an asset
  • French language skills considered an asset

Education and Experience

  • 10+ years’ experience in a Marketing and/or PR role
  • 10+ years’ experience in a media, advertising or marketing agency as a member of a business development team
  • Well established network of contacts coupled with strong industry awareness
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
