Overview of the role

EssenceMediacomX is a top 4 media agency both UK and Global clients including Our clients include many exciting brands such as Google, ITV, Airbnb, BT/EE, NBCUniversal and L’Oréal to name a few.

The Business Development team is integral to the growth of our business. As such, it is fast paced, challenging and offers people the chance to experience all facets of EssenceMediacomX whilst having a significant impact on growth for the business. 

The Business Development Lead will lead the running of pitches from the London office and guide our approach across the UK, with responsibility for ensuring that we maximise both pitch win and retention rates to drive headline business growth.

Reporting of the Role

The role will report into the Chief Operations Officer.

What you will need

  • The most important attributes we are recruiting this role on are organisation, enthusiasm for new business, attitude and values. 
  • Minimum 10 years’ Marketing, and/or Media Agency experience 
  • Excellent project management capable of leading multiple projects with competing priorities
  • Positive, can-do attitude and ability to keep teams motivated whilst working with them 
  • Proactive, flexible and organised with attention to detail and a drive to win and to always improve 
  • Strong commercial acumen and understanding of agency revenue models and approaches
  • Excellent written and verbal English language skills 
  • Strong past pitch experience or business development experience in agency growth
  • Must enjoy business development and networking at key industry events
  • Mature, calm and confident when communicating to all levels, inside and outside of the business 
  • Ability to work independently and lead a senior team to deliver within tight time frames
