Role context:

  • Following the Covid pandemic, there has been exponential growth in E-commerce and the importance that it holds for our clients. As we have been investing in building out our global ecommerce capability over the last five years, many of our clients are turning to us to help them guide through this uncertain time. While the local markets are invested in landing solutions with their clients locally, a lot of these conversations have ended up with the global team who need to often provide a viewpoint, industry perspective, or state-of-play to senior clients. This role has been created specifically to support our global team within the Consultancy Hub to deliver these solutions. While this is not an activation role per se, it requires a solid understanding of digital media, as we try to find ways by which our clients can connect media and ecommerce more closely.

Core responsibilities:

  • Support global team in building client deliverables through desk research, industry analysis, competitive measurement etc.
  • Build state-of-play update documents for senior management to keep them abreast of evolution of ecommerce across the world.
  • Work closely with the ecommerce leads across the EssenceMediacom and GroupM network to gather best practices, create case studies, and disseminate information to.
  • Support global ecommerce team and local leads with tools development by supporting relationships with key partners including Suppliers/partners “Amazon, Jumia, Talabat, etc.).
  • Represent EssenceMediacom in GroupM stakeholder meetings to build shared capabilities.

Required skills / experience:

  • An understanding of digital media, ideally with an ecommerce or performance client.
  • Excellent PowerPoint and desk research skills.
  • Passion for ecommerce and understanding of retail structures around the world.
  • An understanding of search, social and ad tech, as applies to paid media and performance preferable.
  • Ability to work in a very fast paced environment with senior stakeholders and manage multiple projects and workstreams.
  • Must be highly organized, and comfortable working with a very distributed virtual team.
