Senior Director of Data & Technology
Reporting into the EMEA Chief Data & Technology Officer (Sherif Guindy), and the Chief Digital, Data, and Trading Officer (Stephanie Robelus-Labarrere)
Overall Objective
Work with the global and regional Data & Tech leads to build a market leading data and tech capability at EM France, making sure we are delivering on the disciplines’ purpose to harness the power of data to unlock greater efficiency & effectiveness for brands and enable more valuable marketing experiences for consumers.
Specific Responsibilities and Tasks
- Support the regional Data & Tech lead in building the 5 capability areas within the data & tech practice - Data Strategy & Mar Tech, Data Management, Product innovation, Technology, and Operations in EM France. This includes to identify the local (including GroupM) & regional or global resources needs to build each capability and have a strong value proposal. And this includes the adoption of globally and regionally driven best practice and process, ensuring consistency where appropriate.
- Lead data & technology approach and business development on key EM pitches and clients. Making sure we have the right data & tech narrative, backed by commercial models, and appropriate talent on team sheets.
- As the first dedicated D&T lead in French business, you are tasked with building a healthy pipeline of D&T projects across current and new client, and building D&T roadmaps ont the key FR clients in collaboration with the Client Leads. Making sure you convert to new paid for work, which will fund a growing D&T team.
- Deliver thought leadership for the EM business, our clients, and the wider D&T community. Positioning yourself as our clients’ trusted advisor.
- Be the D&T voice within the EM leadership team, making sure the team’s needs, and great work is well represented.
- Support EM ExCo in developing a consistent working relationship with the wider WPP network including: GroupM, Keyade, Nexus, Choreograph, Wunderman Thompson, and Acceleration.
- Represent EM France in global EM technology & tool development. While leading the deployment of global tools in the french office, through training programs, documentation sharing … to ensure the tools adoption by FR teams
- Be a leading member of a flourishing community of market data & tech leads who support and learn from each other across markets.
- Contribute to global data & tech product and capability innovation, surfacing from EM France what ‘works’, what doesn’t and client needs that represent opportunities for EM
- Provide access to and act as a bridge for EM France to regional and global D&T and product leads.
Experience requirements:
- 10+ years in Data, Tech, or Analytics roles relating to marketing or media.
- Strong knowledge of the media planning (online & offline), buying (online & offline) and analytics methodologies, tools, and processes.
- Knowledge of audience engineering and data strategies across paid, owned and earned media. This encompasses 1st , 2nd, and 3rd party data sets.
- Knowledge of FR Data providers, including FR sales vendors
- Strong knowledge of Data management (including CRM Onboarding), Business Intelligence, and data governance processes, tech, and best practice
- Deep knowledge of Martech and data management tools such as: Adservers, Mobile SDKs, CDPs, DMPs, Google Marketing platform, Meta, Cloud data management and storage tools (GCP, Azure, Snowflake, AWS, etc.), Tableau, Power BI, and others.
- Experience in building and managing sizeable technical teams
- Experience in client facing thought leadership, i.e presentation, talks, written articles etc.
- Good business development and commercial mindset
- Project management skill
- Fluent Business English
