About the team

The Client Services team is responsible for creating the conditions through which our clients love our work. We do this by building trust and exerting influence through deeper, more strategic relationships with our clients, and by driving, leading and owning the whole campaign delivery process.


About the role

We are looking for a smart, sharp, strategic, driven and highly experienced Client Lead to take on a role as a Client Director leading a team that services one of leading, legacy clients, based in London. You will build trusted partnerships with key stakeholders across client's leadership structure (Central mkt & Brand teams); understanding their business, understanding them as people and understanding the environment in which they operate. You will help create and foster an environment which marries client objectives with high quality thinking and great, timely work output executed across a range of specialised practice teams, all in service of realising the client’s market-leading ambitions.

You will be working with a team of experienced marketing professionals, working closely with senior clients to define strategy, manage deadlines & very high expectations, oversee planned media and execute high-performing brand and direct response campaigns across a range of products. You have ultimate responsibility for maintaining the overall health of the client relationship for these two divisions and beyond, devising and executing growth strategies & motivating the whole team plus contributing to a happy, healthy & high performing team culture.

Our relationship with this key client has a huge focus on ecomm/ data-led transformation, however the role will largely orchestrate the delivery of a very high volume of fast turnaround multi-channel campaigns which together total an annual media spend of c. £200m. You will also be responsible for driving growth through incremental opportunities. This will involve you building relationships with senior clients and communicating the unique value EssenceMediacomX can bring on 4 main fronts: media, retail/commerce, data & measurement.

The majority of your time will be spent working with clients and collaborating closely with those working on the business, both across EMX and the client.

The Client Director role is a very senior role within the agency, and as such you will be expected to provide leadership above and beyond the primary client engagement, also acting as stand in, alongside the other CDs, for the VP where necessary.

A bit about yourself

  • Extensive experience across all channels including digital and offline plus the new frontier: retail/e/commerce
  • An understanding of the UK marketplace and its key media owners
  • A proven track record in defining and leading large client relationships and marketing campaigns on fast moving accounts; experience working on clients from the FMCG sector would be desirable
  • Exceptional presentation skills, with experience of presenting and securing buy-in at the highest level
  • A passion for all things digital combined with a drive to stay up-to-date on the latest industry trends and news
  • Demonstrated ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines and deliver results
