About the team

The Media Activation team is responsible for providing thoughtful and exciting recommendations for Search, Social, Display, and Video, owning supplier relationships, and then executing those recommendations expertly. The Media Activation team leverages their mastery of each channel to make sure its recommendations are consistently excellent and innovative, and that in-channel performance and data integrity is maximized.

 

About the role

The Media Activation Senior Associate Director is responsible for overseeing the planning and buying of AV campaigns (TV, VOD and Cinema) on a client account. They have a strong understanding of the AV marketplace, and will be the primary point of contact for campaign planning, ensuring that campaigns are fit for purpose, deliverable and innovative. They will lead the team with a focus on exceptional campaign planning, and buying, delivering plans to the extremely high standards expected and keeping a close eye on the market to ensure new opportunities are reviewed and implemented for the benefit of their client. The Media Activation Senior Associate Director fosters strong media owner relationships, as well as holding relationships with high level stakeholders within Essence and with the client.

Some of the things we’d like you to do:

Manage and quality assure all deliverables produced by the team, particularly ensuring the high quality planning of campaigns, delivery of campaigns, and accurate and insightful post campaign reporting and learnings.

Focus on managing multiple campaigns across the account in TV, BVOD and Cinema, being able to look at the bigger picture and problem solve accordingly.

Take the lead on campaign performance against intended outcomes and delivering the PRF

Develop and deliver exceptional channel strategies that align to client objectives and the commercial obligations of the agency, planning campaigns with knowledge of the market and AV best practice in mind

Establish strong working relationships with key internal teams and clients, as well as media owners

Have a strong understanding of the TV marketplace and media owner offerings in this space

Confidently present to key stakeholders on both client or agency side

Set the standard and line manage a direct reports, supporting a wider team with career development and Essential satisfaction

Foster operational excellence on the team; upskilling more junior team members and sharing your broad AV knowledge to ensure a highly performing and motivated team

Work with the Business Director to develop AV best practice strategies and broader thought pieces around AV topics; drive creativity within activation and deliver award winning work

 

Competencies (specific knowledge, skills and abilities):

Significant proven experience in AV with 6+ years of media agency experience

Experience of leading a team and developing direct reports

Expertise in industry standard tools (TechEdge, DEN and other Media Ocean applications)

Strong skills in all basic Office programmes (particularly Excel and PowerPoint)

Strong public speaking skills and excellent written ability

Excellent organizational skills, close attention to detail and ability to quality control work.

Ability to adhere to deadlines and project manage multiple campaigns.

Proven problem solving and ability to think outside the box for creative solutions

Strong negotiation and relationship building skills

Ability to work independently and to collaborate in a team environment.

A passion for media and advertising coupled with a continued desire to expand your knowledge

Provide timely and actionable feedback to drive team development and work improvement
