OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE

As a Client Manager, you are responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations of the Mars account. As one of the industry-leading clients we pride ourselves on delivering breakthrough campaigns. When you work on Mars, it is within a fully integrated agency village construct where every day it feels like we are building something together, not just delivering a service. Within this role you will get immersed in the world of chocolate, cats and dogs, spices and sauce.
You will work with the client team & specialist teams in EssenceMediacom to ensure the output from EssenceMediacom is of consistently high quality and that, for responses to brief, the strategic approach flows seamlessly through all facets of the brief response. You will support your Client Director and ensure we deliver an excellent standard of service and delivery.
You will be curious and passionate about your client’s business so as to unearth and turn business challenges into solutions that will drive their business forward.
Please note this is initially a 6 months Fixed term contract
KEY RELATIONSHIPS
- Internal Mars Team: Collaborate closely with your client team, including client leads, comms planners, strategy leads the Marketplace team and other agency and group departments to manage expectations and collectively deliver the strongest outcomes for clients
- Clients: Establish a deep understanding of our client’s business to develop strong relationships with clients.
- Key Media owners: Keeping up to date with industry trends and key media owner offerings
- Agency Village Partners: Collaborate with wider Mars agency partners to build and project manage campaigns.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
Clients
- Establish a deep understanding of client challenges, objectives & initiatives
- Build strong relationships with Mars clients, representing the EssenceMediacom team appropriately and ensuring that our campaigns are delivered to the highest quality
- Be responsive to client needs and requests, problem solve and work in an agile manner to create solutions
- Provide insights by acting as an expert on the client's business, industry and competitors
- Provide a complete strategic view of the client business e.g. market share, purchase barriers, key competitors, drivers, tasks
- Work alongside the client and agency partners to provide best-case outcomes using the agency resources effectively
- Use language and processes which align with the client’s business
- Demonstrate a clear understanding of in-scope services of the client and the process for completing work above and beyond
- Adopt a full view of the end-to-end campaign process
- Support and where appropriate, lead, client requests and admin tasks
People
- Openly communicate and collaborate with all internal key stakeholders regularly
- Manage workflows and timelines effectively
- Bring expert knowledge and understanding of the wider agency structure, knowing when to tap into resource to enhance work
- Manage weekly WIPs and actions notes to ensure all campaign projects are being managed
- Work collaboratively with Agency Village partners including creative, PR, retail and commerce
Product
- Engage with internal product teams including GroupM product and service teams to ensure you have an understanding about the agency offerings and relevance to our clients
- Manage of global projects and requests including KPI tracking, reporting and tool roll out
- Demonstrate a good knowledge of media planning principles (e.g. scheduling, flighting, recency, effective reach theories, seasonality, market prioritisation, roles of all communication channels) and understanding of Mars principles
- Demonstrate a full understanding and comprehension of the client brief with the ability to discuss it internally with the broader Mars Team and full ownership of certain brands campaigns
- Deliver a well-informed POV in every meeting
Role Requirements
- Great communicator with clear written and verbal communication skills
- Adept at managing timelines and client expectations
- Up to date, media landscape knowledge (able to articulate consumer trends and what they mean for clients)
- Good problem-solving skills, with the patience to examine detail and create solutions
- Results Driven. Passionate about delivering business results for clients, with the ability to identify and clearly articulate what’s working, and why
YOU BRING
- A passion for the Mars brands and business
- Proven experience in excellent client servicing/ account management
- Capability of dealing with a variety of client situations
- Strong ability to build relationships with key stakeholders – client, client team, peers & colleagues, senior level staff, media suppliers etc.
- Strong communication & presentation skills
