Overview of the role
This Associate Social Director opportunity would suit an analytical and social-first problem solver who can lead by example to deliver breakthrough work for our social and content clients.
A strong team player, they’ll be able to collaborate across our wider social and influencer team to drive diverse thinking that elevates our day-to-day work.
With experience across all facets of social media (influencer, social listening, content strategy, social content production, paid media amplification, community management and campaign reporting), they’ll be responsible for managing a social team (Social Managers, Associates & Coordinators) to develop social content that stops audiences as they scroll.
Working together with our Social Partner, this is also an opportunity to provide a social lens to agency-wide work and build relationships with key platform partners.

Objectives:
- People: build relationships with internal teams and any production suppliers.

Responsibilities:
When thinking about People this role is responsible for:
- - Manage and mentor an ambitious and dynamic social team (including Social Managers, Associates and Coordinators).
- - Work collaboratively with the wider social and influencer team, acting as an advocate for social-first opportunities across our client portfolio.
- - Empower diverse thinking and support your direct reports in achieving personal career goals.
- - Run internal workshops to upskill and maintain high levels of social media skills across the team.
- - Maintain a positive feedback loop, helping to elevate your team’s client-facing presentations and analytical skills when planning content, community management and reporting.
- - Build relationships and maintain transparent communications with internal stakeholders, including Client Services, Partnerships and Creative.
When thinking about Clients this role is responsible for:
- - Act as the point of contact and escalation for key social media clients.
- - Build relationships and maintain transparent communications with your key clients, including managing weekly and monthly WIPs as required.
- - Utilise communications from key platform partners (Meta, TikTok, etc) to help educate clients and elevate the work we do for them.
- - Develop unique and meaningful insights for clients, framing actioning next steps and presenting learnings in confident and considered formats.
- - Work collaboratively with our Client Service team to maintain high levels of service for clients.

When thinking about Commercials this role is responsible for:
- - Oversee budgets for key social media clients, ensuring media amplification and related reports are up to date.
- - Identify, measure and manage KPIs and benchmarks on behalf of key clients.
- - Manage and implement budgets within platforms including Ads Manager within Meta, TikTok and Pinterest.
- - Maintain effective workflows to support commerical growth and effectiveness.
- - Assist in the creation of scope of work documents and client invoices.
- - Escalate commerical matters to the Social Partner as required.
When thinking about Product this role is responsible for:
- - Drive gold-standard social and influencer work across a portfolio of clients in the commerce, FMCG, luxury automotive, film and entertainment categories.
- - Stay up to date with industry trends, product and platform updates, helping to integrate new capabilities into our day-to-day.
- - Manage effective workflows across influencer, social listening, content strategy, social content production and post-campaign reporting.

Ideal Candidate Experience:
The ideal candidate for the Associate Social Director role will be a strategic and content-savvy social media specialist with experience crafting unique content strategies and managing both BAU and paid campaigns across social media platforms. They should be confident in a client-facing role and be comfortable managing junior members of the team, focusing on driving diverse thinking and opportunities to upskill.
- At least 5 years' experience in social media, ideally as a Social Media Manager or Associate Director at a social or creative agency, in-house at a brand or publisher.
- Demonstrated experience managing people, ideally within an influencer, social media or content team.
- Strong understanding of key social media platforms including Meta, TikTok, Pinterest and Snapchat.
- Demonstrated experience and a solid understanding of paid and organic social media strategy.
- Strong working knowledge of creating and managing campaigns in Ads Managers within Meta, TikTok and Pinterest.
- Wider knowledge of creating or managing content across YouTube or Twitch would be a bonus.
- An excellent copywriter and editor, who can deliver clear direction and feedback to junior team members.
- Hands-on experience editing and creating content within platforms and/or Adobe Suite, as well as within design platforms like Canva and Figma.
- Experience using social listening and scheduling tools, such as Sprout, Sprinklr and Brandwatch.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with a proven ability to add a social-first lens to insights and data.
- A genuine excitement for social media and the digital landscape, with a proven record of integrating platform updates into BAU and/or campaign work.
- An organised and detailed individual with proven time management skills.
