Position Purpose

This position performs cleaning of aircraft part scrapping aircraft parts with defined instructions in accordance with Erickson requirements. This position also is a “mechanic helper” in any of the manufacturing and maintenance departments. Complies with all company policies and Standard Operating Procedures as a team player. Provide support to internal and external customers to meet customer requirements.
  

Duties & Responsibilities 

  • Performs cleaning and surface preparation of parts and structures. Assists with scrapping of aircraft parts.
  • Performs benching, sawing, assembly, disassembly, and testing tasks for aircraft parts and components.
  • Documents work per company requirements.
  • Ability to perform tasks using basic hand tools and measuring equipment.
  • Performs “mechanic helper” and general duties in work area as defined by supervision.
  • Reads and complies with Repair Station Quality Manual, Production Certificate Quality Manual, Standard Operation Procedures, Federal Aviation Regulations, Technical Manuals, Drawings, and Specifications as applicable.
  • Performs housekeeping and other organizational requirements.
  • Achieves and maintains task qualifications for all work performed.
  • Works in a team environment and follow Erickson’s Values Charter.
  • Performs administrative duties e.g. Time entry, DAX, Training classes, and use department documents, etc.), as required by Erickson company and department requirements.
  • Performs Lean, Standard Work and Continuous Process Improvements.
  • Uses and maintains cleaning and scrapping equipment and tools.
  • Works with hazardous and non-hazardous chemicals and products to perform required tasks.

Minimum Qualifications 

  • High School Diploma or equivalency.
  • Ability to perform basic tasks, following written and verbal instructions. 
  • Possess good housekeeping and organizational skills.
  • Possess mechanical aptitude with the ability to use basic tools and equipment.
  • Have the following qualities: Good attitude strong work ethic, punctuality, honest, team player, work alone or with others, positive influence, detail orientated, problem solving skills.
  • Ability to read and follow written instructions. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Work 40 or more hours per week as directed (overtime, weekends, etc.)
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
  • Must have reading, speaking, writing, and understanding skills in the English language.
