Stock Administration Senior Manager

Stock Plan Administration Scottsdale, Arizona

Senior Manager - Stock Administration Services

This is a role for a results-focused, growth-oriented professional in the stock administration profession to join and play a leadership role in our stock plan services consulting practice. The role blends technical expertise in stock administration, a client-centric approach to service, and growing and developing a team.

As a Senior Manager, you’ll apply your experience in stock administration to lead client engagements of varying capacities, from full outsourcing to project-specific support. You will both oversee client relationships and directly contribute to them as an early member of this new practice within the broader Equity Methods services portfolio. You will grow and manage a team, learn how to manage a distinct business unit, and develop process architecture to facilitate scaling and reduce risk.

The Role in a Nutshell

  • Manage and train a team of 1 to 3 stock plan administrators to support daily processing needs and research items for clients.
  • Contribute directly to client engagements, ensuring consistently outstanding client satisfaction, high responsiveness, and accurate work product.
  • Examples of project types include:
    • Full outsourcing, involving processing stock plan transactions, filing the appropriate regulatory filings, interacting with payroll teams and platforms, and fielding clients’ questions related to the equity programs.
    • Project-related support, usually with respect to transaction readiness and system conversions.
    • RFP support, involving managing the RFP process, identifying key objectives, interviewing and assessing platforms, and presenting findings.
  • Manage and distribute work across team members through proactive capacity planning.
  • Develop team members through coaching and mentoring, create accountability, and support recruiting efforts to continuously drive excellence in hiring.
  • Liaison with senior leadership to develop world class scalable processes for the Equity Administration Department and implement best practices with effective controls, with a focus on automation of routine work streams and manual processes.
  • Supporting day-to-day client interactions in a way that demonstrates accountability, upholds quality standards, and ultimately delivers client delight through ongoing improvement of the client experience. You will quickly become the face of Equity Methods to clients and they will count on your expertise and project management for high-stakes deliverables.
  • Designing, implementing, and documenting processes to proactively manage risk and drive efficiency. Identify opportunities for automation of routine work streams to improve efficiency and create lasting client value.
  • In collaboration with your Director mentor within the firm, develop managerial dashboards to monitor engagement profitability, utilization, cross-firm collaboration, and other tools that prepare you for broader business management experience.
  • Drive client acquisition and growth by visiting clients to nurture relationships, presenting at conferences, and contributing to our best-in-class thought leadership. Build your industry brand via EM’s model of being a technical expert who uses plain-language explanations and is easy to work with. (Travel is < 20%.)
  • Contribute to and excel in driving strategic initiatives within the practice or at the firm level. These span process development, marketing, risk management, recruiting, and general business planning.

Our Culture and Method of Doing Business. We are:

  • Zealous about exceptional client service and delighting every client, large or small.
  • Lean and agile—we don’t have manager layers that get to sit back and just talk.
  • Growth-oriented—both in welcoming new clients into the fold and seeing professional development in our outstanding colleagues.
  • Feedback-heavy—because that’s how to unlock growth.
  • Mentoring-rich—we’re not a competitive, eat-what-you-kill culture, and our consultants achieve professional growth via hands-on client experience and feedback from leaders.
  • All about impact—our professionals love the opportunity to make an impact on clients, each other, and the long-run trajectory of the business.
  • Eager to solve clients’ toughest problems—because that’s where the greatest impact is created even though these challenges are riddled with ambiguity and complexity.
  • Devoted to plain-language deliverables that clients find easy to consume and yet rigorous—because clients value our ability to make the complex simple for them.
  • Not a 9-to-5 job—because all the above items just take time, even for very smart and efficient people.
