POSITION SUMMARY:

Equitas Health Pharmacy is a company of Equitas Health providing access, education, consultation and management of general retail and specialty pharmaceuticals for patients of Equitas Health and other Ohio providers, as well as the local community.

 SALARY: $70,400-$88,000

The Associate Director of 340b Operations oversees the monitoring process and verification steps for 340B eligibility determination, process expansion, and ongoing program oversight and plays a key role in ensuring that appropriate documentation is collected within databases and the electronic health record. When necessary The Associate Director of 340b Operations will perform auditing duties as well. This individual works collaboratively with the pharmacy team, medical team and case management to monitor required documentation and complete routine audits. The Associate Director of 340b Operations will collaborate with other directors on process improvements that will ensure compliance with the 340b program.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

The Associate Director of 340b Operations is responsible for overseeing and developing processes for the effective and efficient eligibility determination processing of pharmacy claims and clinic administration and auditing of recordsEssential functions of the job include, but are not limited to, traveling, driving or having reliable transportation; written communication; utilizing a computer for typing and data analysis; attending meetings.

 

MAJOR AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:

  • Work closely with the, Chief Pharmacy Officer, Market Director of Pharmacy Services, Associate Director of Pharmacy Operations, and Director of Client Services to ensure compliance with the 340B program.
  • Collect and scan required medical documentation from external providers into the electronic medical record, as require to ensure program compliance
  • Oversee contract pharmacy prescription audits and maintain appropriate program documentation.
  • Oversee reconciliations of 340B medication purchases and drug utilization within the clinics.
  • Use the electronic health record and pharmacy data to track and audit eligibility for the 340B program.
  • Create and/or update 340B-related procedures for Equitas Health and train staff accordingly.
  • Review HRSA website and advise team of changes that may affect the organization.
  • Identify and utilize cultural and community resources. Establish and maintain relationships with identified service providers.
  • Communicate with case management supervisors particularly regarding releases of information, , and ongoing client enrollment and closures. 
  • Provide follow-up email and phone calls to Equitas staff, provider offices, or other professionals as needed.
  • Strive to consistently improve the overall efficacy, efficiency, value and compliance with the 340B Program.
  • Regularly communicate with staff members involved in the 340B program to ensure efficiency, as well as to address problems or concerns in a prompt manner.
  • Comply with the Equitas Health Care Corporate Compliance Standards of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
  • Participate in other agency meetings as requested by supervisor including continuous quality improvement committee meetings and director committees.

EDUCATION/LICENSURE:

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred, registered or certified pharmacy technician required.

 

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and other Qualifications:

  • Experience working in medical or pharmacy setting preferred.
  • Experience with 340B program auditing preferred
  • Experience managing a 340b auditing team preferred
  • Quality assurance experience such as medical chart reviews or auditing preferred.
  • Must be exceptionally organized and able to work independently.
  • Ability to supervise and offer guidance other individuals involved in the 340B Program.
  • Strong attention to detail, spelling, and numerical differences.
  • Comfort in creating and editing spreadsheets in Excel and/or other databases required.
  • Ability to be flexible in work hours.
  • Exemplary written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of healthcare terminology.
  • Must have sensitivity to, interest in and competence in cultural differences, HIV/AIDS, minority health, sexual practices, chemical dependency and a demonstrated competence in working with persons of color, and gay/lesbian/bisexual/transgender community.
  • Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint), computers, email, web-based systems and electronic health records.
  • Reliable transportation, driver’s license and proof of auto insurance required.
