POSITION SUMMARY:
The Programs Subject Matter Expert (SME) Specialist collaborates with the Programs SME Manager, other Programs SME Specialists, and Internal Auditors, for the overall implementation, management, and training of Programs Division staff who perform the programmatic activities of their SME area. This position works within a team to focus on grant management for their SME area. The Programs SME Specialist is also responsible for the strategic implementation of funded comprehensive, high-impact, community-driven programs. The Programs SME 
Specialist is remote eligible, with the expectation that this individual will be able to be present in offices across Ohio as needed for training and programmatic work purposes. 


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Essential functions of the job include, but are not limited to, traveling, driving or having reliable transportation; written communication; utilizing a computer for grant and program administration; attending meetings; presenting to small groups and large groups; and trains Programs Division staff on their areas of expertise.


MAJOR AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assuring completion of reports and collection of data for funders (including Federal, State, and Local) and agency purposes.
- Ensure assigned grant(s) goals and objectives are met and act as point of contact for funders, as assigned. 
- Evaluate outcomes based on data and make programmatic adjustments as appropriate.
- Work collaboratively across multiple departments to promote and improve services for Equitas Health.
- Assists Prevention team in streamlining services, including the development of Policies and Procedures to accompany processes created. 
- Assisting with grant writing and application input and attend required grant meetings.
- Coordination of project activities and assistance with ensuring that activities are carried out as described in the grant application.
- Collaborate with Programs SME Manager for the management of program budgets and fiscal operations while working with the finance department to monitor the program budget and spending.
- Correspond with internal and external partners regarding programmatic needs and progress.
- Promote community input into programmatic activities and assist Programs Site Managers in coordinating community engagement activities.
- Representing the community at local planning advisory groups as assigned.
- Provide monthly programmatic supervision to the specialized team members within the Programs Division. These supervisions should include, but not be limited to: community engagement strategies, reviewing required documentation, putting theories and best practice models into practice, and identifying program needs. 
- Collaborates with other leaders within the division and agency to carry out the SME area and organization’s overarching goals and objectives.
- Assists in streamlining services, including the development of policies, procedures, and protocols to to accompany programming.
- Proactively assess client satisfaction via data collection and analysis. Suggest program improvements based on operational knowledge or best practices to ensure high levels of client satisfaction. 
- Identifies, recommends, and implements new programming opportunities as partnerships and funding emerge in the network. 
- Collaborates with members of the Programs Division leadership team to implement quality improvement and evaluation, data validity, and data engagement strategies for the Programs Division. 
- Presents periodic performance reports and metrics to the Programs SME Manager and other leaders as requested. 
- Monitor that client files and records are maintained as directed by agency policies and procedures and grant requirements resulting in successfully passing all audits. 
- Keep informed about the latest innovations in research and trends within their SME area, and use as a catalyst for ongoing growth and innovation within the Programs Division. Maintains knowledge of emerging trends in related fields.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory and accreditation requirements. 
- Oversees volunteer training/onboarding and coordination of volunteer events as assigned.
- Work closely with Procurement Coordinator to implement and monitor program inventory for community events. 
- Assist with maintaining up to date and accurate website information.
- Assist with implementing culturally appropriate materials, promotional information, and marketing campaigns to the public. 
- Coordinate timely and accurate data collection and assist with evaluating outcomes based on data.
- Identifies training needs within their SME area for Programs Division staff and ensures proper training is developed and provided.

EDUCATION/LICENSURE:
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Medical, Mental Health/Addiction Related Licensure considered valuable.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:
- One year of management or equivalent community organizing experience is preferred.
- Exemplary customer service, and verbal and written communication skills.
- A background in one of the following SME areas preferred;
          o community-centered HIV/STI prevention and education, 
          o Ryan White programming, 
          o HUD- and other locally-funded housing programs, 
          o harm reduction programming, or
          o grant administrative support
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Experience in developing culturally appropriate marketing materials and campaigns is preferred.
- Public speaking and group facilitation experience is preferred.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and change management skills. 
- Must have sensitivity to, interest in and competence in cultural differences, HIV/AIDS, minority health, sexual practices, chemical dependency and a demonstrated competence in working with persons of color, and gay/lesbian/bisexual/transgender community. 
- Ability to be flexible in work hours. 
- Adept knowledge in Microsoft Office Products required. 
- Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license and proof of auto insurance required.


SALARY: $58,700-$73,300

Hours may vary, including working some evenings and weekends based on workload.
