Location: Houston- Texas- Need to be onsite- 5 days a week

Job Description
Summary
The IT PM – Server Delivery has overall responsibility for the successful initiation, planning, design, execution, monitoring, controlling and closure of multiple concurrent projects, all related to the delivery of servers for:
  • Replacement of servers that have reached end-of-life per policy
  • Integration/move/decommissioning of data centers
  • Citrix infrastructure enhancements
  • Infrastructure capacity such as storage and virtual infrastructure
The IT PM defines the project objectives and scope for each phase of the project, overseeing quality control throughout the project’s life cycle, acquiring resources, managing resources, and coordinating the efforts of team members to deliver projects/products according to plan. The Sr IT PM is a team player with excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Due to the large number of pieces of equipment being tracked, the IT PM needs to demonstrate a strong desire for quality and attention to detail with financial management, excellent problem solving and organizational skills.  The IT PM needs to demonstrate leadership qualities including flexibility and adaptability to change.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Responsible for the successful management of projects
  • Manages project’s Purchase Orders, ensuring all items are received and invoiced
  • Manages project’s Inventory Transfers, ensuring all items physically removed from inventory and deployed are correctly
  • Works closely with functional operations managers and their field personnel to ensure purchasing and inventory data is always as accurate as possible
  • Manages project efforts from initiating through delivery and project closure
  • Manages the day-to-day activities of projects and project resources
  • Creates, manages and tracks project documents including, but not limited to: project schedules, financials, detailed project plans, scope documents, work breakdown structures, cost estimates, resource plans, risk and issue logs and regular status reporting
  • Manages project finances/budget utilization including, but not limited to monthly spend forecast revisions, invoice coding and routing for approvals, tracking of actual spend, and reporting on budget status and variances
  • Organizes, conducts, attends, and documents meetings with project team and stakeholders to facilitate all levels of project planning
  • Manages multiple (6+) projects concurrently, with small teams
  • Works with project managers of other teams to ensure overall business and operational requirements are met for company initiatives
  • Lead steering committee meetings with IT and Business leadership
  • Lead technical and requirements gathering sessions- bringing people and understanding together
  • Communicates and collaborates with internal and external customers as needed including managing expectations, presenting and interfacing with stakeholders
  • Creates and maintains relationships across the organization
  • Help project team achieve a high level of performance and quality, holding teams accountable for their work, removing obstacles, and mentoring less experienced team members
 
Required Qualifications/Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in: Computer Science, Business Administration, Management, Project Management, Engineering or related field
  • PMI PMBOK Trained
  • A team player with excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Strong Accounting and Financial management skills
  • Expert user of Microsoft Excel
  • A strong desire for quality and attention to detail with excellent problem solving and organizational skills
  • Demonstrates leadership qualities include flexibility and adaptability to change
 
Preferred Qualifications/Skills
  • 1-4 years of related experience with Server Delivery and Data Center projects, including at least one year of professional experience in project management
  • PMP Certification
  • Microsoft Project
