Our client is looking for a talented Sr. Scrum Master who is willing to work on global time zones.
Long term Contract - 12+ months.
Location- Hybrid, Houston Tx. (Need to be in office -3 days a week )
Industry- Energy sector.
W2 employment- No C2C/ No Sponsorship.
The Senior Scrum Master will engage and support up to three agile teams, and the broader organization, in adopting and applying agile principles and values, driving enhancement of operational and organizational agility and achieving short and long-term organizational goals.
The Senior Scrum Master will guide, coach, and mentor teams along their agile journey towards becoming self-managed, high performing teams as they apply the appropriate framework (Scrum, Kanban, XP, etc.), emphasizing the importance and need for delivering on business goals and objectives in a timely fashion.
The Senior Scrum Master will champion adoption of the agile mindset across the larger organization through business and stakeholder engagement, facilitation of information/training sessions, and exemplifying the spirit of agile.
Responsibilities include (but not limited to)
• Actively engaging with and in the team to deliver value to the business in multiple forms, including but not limited to working software, customer service and satisfaction, operational efficiencies, innovation and adaptability, etc.
• Proactively helping the team to identify and remove impediments while coaching the team to develop the ability to do so for itself
• Facilitate getting the work DONE without coercion, assigning, or dictating the work, emphasizing team empowerment, ownership, accountability, and self-organization
• Facilitate building healthy team behaviors, including, but not limited to, trust, healthy discussions (especially during disagreements), decision making, problem solving, and conflict resolution
• Build a trusting, psychologically safe environment where team members feel valued, respected, and free to express themselves without fear of negative consequences
• Proactively provide all support the team may need, as a leader who serves, while exemplifying the key values of Scrum and the agile mindset
• Serving the Product Owner in alignment with the latest Scrum or Kanban guidance
• Supporting and educating the Product Owner in developing and improving in the Product Owner role and skill set
• Coaching and assisting the PO, and the team, with maintaining a healthy, prioritized backlog that aligns with applicable organizational standards of execution
• Facilitating building effective relationships with stakeholders amongst the Product Owner, Scrum Master, and the Team, that emphasizes communication, collaboration, and delivery of value to the business
• Guiding the team in identifying current level of agile maturity and taking the next step on their agile journey, at a pace that is sustainable for the team and organization
• Fostering transparency and accountability by assisting with/delivering internal and external communications, and radiating information about the team, their product, and the value delivered to the business at regular intervals and/or as requested
• Serving as a peer mentor to other Scrum Masters and partnering with Agile Coaches to drive agility throughout the organization
• Coaching the team, stakeholders, and surrounding organization on how to apply Agile values and principles to maximize value delivered, delight customers, and achieve desired business outcomes.
Qualifications
• Required
o Certified Scrum Master
o Knowledge and experience with Agile approaches – Kanban, Scrum, XP, etc.
o Ability to coach/mentor/support multiple scrum teams
o Familiarity and experience with Agile Tools - (e.g., ADO, Rally, Jira, TFS, etc.)
o Polished communication skills when interacting with management and stakeholders
o Team or people leadership experience
o Experience with facilitation, continuous improvement, empowerment of teams, creating transparency, and being a leader who serves
• Preferred
o Advanced and/or Scaled agile certifications and experience
o Ability to create and facilitate team level training
o Ability to serve as peer-leader to other Scrum Masters
o Knowledge and/or experience with Agile software development approaches i.e., Automated Testing, User Stories, TDD, Continuous Integration, Testing, Pairing, etc.
Education and Experience:
• 7+ years of experience as a scrum master supporting multiple software development teams to deliver high-quality software solutions using Agile techniques (Required)
• Bachelor’s degree or comparable experience
