Description

The Assistant Project Manager will assist the more Senior Project Managers and/or Program Director with day-to-day management of project schedule, cost control, quality, reporting, documentation, customer interface and project analysis. This position will work on a diverse array of IT projects under the SAP platform program.

Qualified candidates will have 2-5 years of assistant project management experience in IT. Ability to read plans, MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Project required. 

Role and Responsibilities:


  • Collaborate with the Project Management team to build client relationships while interfacing with the client for proposal and project related items.
  • Coordinate and assist in the development and implementation of the Project Execution Plan, Quality Assurance Plan, Project Staffing Plan.
  • Support project cost reporting, scheduling, work breakdown structures, project set-up and closeout, and field progress tracking processes.
  • Prepare information for and report project status, risks, schedule, costs, and cash flows at project and corporate level meetings to internal and external stakeholders
  • Develop and distribute meeting minutes as needed.
  • Establish, review and implement the project documentation and filing systems and processes.
  • Assist with maintaining compliance on all project related activities by consistently applying company policies and procedures.
  • Liaising with project stakeholders concerning project details and deliverables
  • Helping to coordinate and manage project tasks and deliverables
  • Analyzing data as required
  • Conducting administrative duties, such as setting up meetings, drafting invoices and drawing estimates
  • Performing other duties assigned by the Program/Project Manager in an orderly and efficient manner

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized with an ability to adapt to very structured processes
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Project
  • Excellent computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Access).
  • Experience with document control, scheduling, cost control and proficiency in Microsoft Project
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong organizational skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle large volumes of work and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • PMP Certification is preferred
  • Experience working on SAP IT project is preferred
  • Experience in the Energy industry is preferred
