These indications are approved under accelerated approval based on overall response rate and duration of response. Continued approval for these indications may be contingent upon verification and description of clinical benefit in a confirmatory trial(s). The company is also exploring the treatment potential of tazemetostat in investigational clinical trials in other solid tumors and hematological malignancies, as a monotherapy and combination therapy in both relapsed and front-line disease settings. Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain strong business relationships with key Private and Governmental payers including State Medicaid plans
  • Work in innovative and collaborative environment seeking patient focused solutions
  • Launch a new commercial organization along with a novel compound into the marketplace
  • Develop relationships/influence Oncology Pathways that are aligned with payer organizations
  • Work with top physician accounts on payer and reimbursement issues
  • Coach and train on Managed Care selling strategies taking advantage of coverage landscape
  • Develop and execute account action plans to maximize access and sales
  • Work closely with marketing, sales management, government affairs, and medical affairs to develop key corporate account strategies and tactics
  • Work closely with the Director of Distribution/Patient Access in order to ensure patient access
  • Understand the distributor channels, reimbursement process, formulary process, PBM relationships with payers
  • Understand the oncology business flow, distribution, discounting, contracting, and reimbursement
  • Understand and give in-put to pricing and contract strategy development
  • Ability to negotiate win/win contract decisions with key corporate accounts
  • Regular communication regarding key corporate accounts to internal and external individuals
  • Work with Regulatory, Medical Affairs and Legal regarding the development and review of account tactics
  • Effectively position new products with key corporate accounts for commercial launches
  • Continually assess the competitive landscape and respond accordingly
  • Manage the corporate account budget on a quarterly and annual basis, ensuring projects are completed in a timely fashion and per budgetary constraints
  • Represent Epizyme at payer meetings such as AMCP, Asembia and PCMA
  • Develop strong business plans with focused strategies and tactics for top accounts
  • Work cross-functionally with the broader Market Access organization

Education & Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 10 years successful pharmaceutical or biotechnology sales and corporate account management experience. MBA is highly desirable
  • A minimum of 3 years National Account Experience preferably in Oncology
  • Previously responsible for the launch of a new pharmaceutical product
  • Understanding of oncology oral and IV product access channels
  • Experience in contract strategy development
  • Ability to manage time effectively and travel extensively (>50%)
  • Strong technical/analytical skills to identify and solve problems
  • Self-motivated, assertive, and self-confident with the ability to act with urgency and passion
  • Proven ability to work with a high level of integrity, accuracy, and attention to detail
  • Strong organizational skills in order to maintain a high level of productivity, innovation, and priority-setting in order to complete assignments on-time and on-budget
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills for effectively interfacing with all levels of management and departments within the company
  • Ability to make thoughtful, integrated, timely and meaningful decisions and take corresponding actions
