The Sales Operations department at Optimizely is responsible for ensuring that executive management has the visibility they need into the business, that the field is properly empowered, and that the sales and services organizations have the process/tools to operate efficiently and effectively. Cooperation and collaboration across all departments at Optimizely is key as well as a very close alignment with the executive team.

As a Business Desk Specialist, you will:

  • Serve as primary point of escalation for deal structuring / contract guidance specific to renewals support, expert services, training engagements, and overages. Emphasis on best practices and scenario building.
  • Play role in contract drafting and negotiation of business terms
  • Support and manage billing inquiries from customers and partners
  • Support monthly reconciliation of customer retention calculations
  • Enforce business controls, policies, procedures, and best practices to maximize sales performance and comply with GAAP requirements (where applicable)
  • Help build and implement an empowerment framework with the goal of improving quality and consistency of response to escalation while reducing senior management involvement
  • Add “self-service” process, tools, empowerment for transactional business
  • Systems Management & Support
  • Support the Salesforce CRM system specific to Sales and Customer Success organizations
  • Identify / recommend tools to improve performance and works with Sales Operations to implement such tools
  • Support data cleansing initiatives in CRM
  • Cross-department Process Improvements
  • Support initiatives to improve process and systems supporting Sales, Marketing, Services, Partners, Customer Support, Licensing, Legal, and Finance

About you:

  • 3-5+ years of experience in Sales Operations (preferably within the enterprise software business
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher with a focus in management, finance or technology
  • Expertise in Excel and Salesforce
  • Power BI experience preferred
  • Hands-on, “get it done” operating style
  • Ability to build trust and display confidence in his or her intentions and those of the organization
  • Effectively communicates and partners at the executive level.
  • Excellent written, analytical and business development skills to balance strategic thinking and execution of tactical activity including the ability to crisply communicate and present at an executive level
  • Possess strong and effective planning, execution, presentation, communications, negotiations and multi-tasking skills
  • Demonstrate a strong sense of ownership in his or her work
