Psychiatric Technician (Behavioral Health)

Location: William Beaumont Army Medical Center (WBAMC), Fort Bliss, TX 
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m. 
Type: Full-Time Civilian Position supporting the U.S. Military 
 
About the Role
The Psychiatric Technician supports clinicians in providing behavioral health care to service members and their families. You’ll play an integral role in treatment, observation, and patient care—working closely with psychologists, social workers, and other professionals in a collaborative military medical setting.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist with treatment, rehabilitation, and patient education
  • Observe and document behaviors, mood, and progress
  • Support individual and group therapy sessions under clinical supervision
  • Conduct basic assessments and maintain medical records
  • Promote patient safety and assist in crisis stabilization when needed.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Completion of an accredited Psychiatric Technician program or U.S. military Behavioral Health Tech training
  • At least one year of experience in a behavioral health or hospital setting within the last two years
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association
  • U.S. citizenship or federal work authorization required.
