About the Role 
Federal Staffing Resources (FSR) is seeking skilled Paramedics to support Naval Medical Center Portsmouth—a high-volume, mission-critical Department of Defense medical facility serving active-duty service members, retirees, and their families. 
In this role, you’ll provide advanced life support (ALS) and critical care transport services as part of the Interfacility Transport Team (IFTT) and Patient Transfer Center, operating in a 24/7 environment alongside elite Navy and DHA medical professionals.

What You’ll Do 
  • Deliver advanced life support and critical care transport for adult, pediatric, obstetric, trauma, and psychiatric patients. 
  • Perform advanced airway management including endotracheal intubation, cricothyrotomy, and mechanical ventilation. 
  • Administer medications and blood products; monitor cardiac rhythms; perform defibrillation, pacing, and cardioversion. 
  • Conduct interfacility and intra-facility transfers, ensuring safe, timely, and effective patient handoffs. 
  • Operate and maintain ambulances, monitors, ventilators, and infusion pumps in accordance with DHA and MTF protocols. 
  • Support Emergency Medical Dispatch (EMD) and Patient Transfer Center operations. 
  • Document care accurately in MHS GENESIS and comply with DHA reporting standards. 
  • Participate in QA/QI reviews, training, and annual readiness drills as mission-essential staff. 

What you’ll need

  • Graduate of an accredited Paramedic program. 
  • NREMT-Paramedic (NRP) or Virginia State Paramedic License (must maintain current). 
  • Minimum 1 year of post-certification experience as a practicing Paramedic. 
  • Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS (American Heart Association or Red Cross). 
  • Valid driver’s license and Emergency Vehicle Operator Course (EVOC) certification. 
  • Must be able to lift/move patients and equipment up to 250 lbs with assistance.
  • Ability to stand, walk, kneel, and perform physically demanding tasks for long periods.    
  • U.S. Citizenship required
