Facility Manager – Camp Pendleton Veterinary Clinic

Location: Camp Pendleton, CA
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 7:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. (excluding federal holidays)

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Facility Manager to oversee operations at the 16 Area Veterinary Clinic on Camp Pendleton. This role serves as the primary point of contact for all facility-related activities—from repairs and maintenance to modernization projects and safety compliance.
As Facility Manager, you’ll play a key role in ensuring the clinic operates smoothly, safely, and in compliance with all regulations. You’ll work closely with military and civilian personnel to support the clinic’s mission and maintain a high standard of service delivery.

What You’ll Do

  • Manage daily facility operations, repairs, inspections, and renovations.
  • Oversee preventive maintenance programs, equipment installations, and facility modernization.
  • Ensure compliance with administrative, legal, and regulatory standards (AHA, NFPA, Joint Commission, etc.).
  • Plan, coordinate, and oversee construction projects.
  • Manage pest control, landscaping, and grounds upkeep contracts.
  • Maintain safety and emergency operations plans.
  • Act as the primary liaison between the Facility Management Department and clinic staff.

What We’re Looking For

Education:
  • Associate Degree in Engineering, Construction Management/Technology, Facility Management, Plant Operation, or related field.
  • Ability to obtain Certified Healthcare Facility Manager (CHFM) certification within 6 months of hire.
Experience & Skills:
  • 5+ years in healthcare facility management and/or construction project management.
  • Strong background in clinical/healthcare facility operations (military or civilian).
  • Knowledge of plant operations equipment: HVAC, generators, sterilization systems, plumbing, electrical, etc.
  • Familiarity with healthcare design/construction standards (ASHRAE, NEC, UFC, Infection Control, etc.).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; ability to read AutoCAD drawings.
  • Experience with facility management software (DMLSS preferred, or ability to learn within 6 months).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, budgets, and contracts effectively.
  • Must hold a valid U.S. driver’s license and be able to obtain a Common Access Card (CAC) for work on the installation.
Preferred:
  • Completion of a formal DOL apprenticeship in mechanical, electrical, or plumbing trades.
  • Licensure as a Stationary Engineer, Boiler Operator, or CA General Electrician.
