EPCOR is hiring a full-time IT Systems Specialist position based out of the Round Rock, Texas office and will require frequent travel to EPCOR locations within the Texas service areas. Full time onsite presence is required for this position.

 

This individual will serve as a point of contact for all IT issues and requests for our Texas locations, including Round Rock, Taylor, Lexington, Caldwell, Magnolia and San Antonio. 

 

Accountabilities include

  • Diagnosing and resolving hardware and software issues 
  • Performing IT equipment installs including, but not limited to desktop computers, network equipment, UPS and racks 
  • Working with remote teams to support networking, file access, printing, M365 and application support
  • Support users with iPhone deployments, migrations, upgrades
  • Work within both project and operations team as required as well as independently.

What you’d be responsible for

  • Desktop changes

-          Configuration of new desktop/laptop computers following EPCOR procedures.

-          Installation of physical new desktop/laptops.

-          Post-implementation support. Assist users either remotely through Teams or by visiting the sites locally in Texas as required.

-          Assist with training local staff to support the product once the project is complete; instructions and training materials to be created by EPCOR.

-          Decommission of end of life desktop/laptops (wiping and removing of hard drives)

-          Updating Active Directory (adding and removing machine accounts)

-          Updating IT assets in inventory system

 

  • Site Visits

-          Regular onsite visits to support end users, identify outstanding or systemic issues and to provide onsite representations on behalf of IT.

-          Ensure cleanliness and operability of wiring closets

 

  • Teams phone/video conferencing

-          Equipment installation and setup

-          Post-implementation support. Assist users either remotely through Teams or by visiting the sites locally in Texas as required.

-          Assist with training local staff to support the product once the project is complete; instructions and training materials to be created by EPCOR.

 

  • Project support

-          Assessment of existing equipment gathering device information (quantity, make, model, etc.)

-          Conduct standard implementation testing of identified business applications/services. EPCOR to provide test documentation.

-          Post-implementation support. Assist users either remotely through Teams or by visiting the sites as required.

-          Assist with training local staff to support the product once the project is complete; instructions and training materials to be created by EPCOR.

 

What’s required to be successful

  • A technical diploma in the fields of computing science or information systems technology, or equivalent combination of experience and training in a related field
  • Minimum of four (4) years of experience in Desktop and Infrastructure support with demonstrated desktop support experience
  • Experience working with Microsoft best practices.
  • Proficiency in using SCCM to deploy Windows 10/Windows11.
  • Proven ability to work within standard procedures and methodologies, as wells as providing input into procedure and methodology improvement.
  • Proven ability to communicate within the project team and user base, both verbally and in writing.
  • Demonstrate a positive attitude, and a focus on maintaining positive customer service relationships.  Must also possess a high performance, high discipline, safe, accountable, achievement-oriented work ethic.
  • Effective time management skills and ability to prioritize workload
  • Self-starter with the ability to take initiative and work independently
  • Available to work evenings and weekends as required.
  • Familiarity enterprise-level network infrastructure, including switches and routers
  • Experienced in application installation and troubleshooting.
  • Experienced in IT equipment physical installation
  • Familiarity with iPhones, including knowledge and experience with iPhones iCloud sync
  • Familiarity with Mobile Device Management processes
  • Knowledge and experience with Microsoft M365, Teams, and Azure
  • Great customer service attitude and a ability to work with end users, field staff and management
  • Availability to travel to various sites our Texas service areas
