Wastewater Operator I, II, III or IV
Description
We are hiring a Full Time Permanent Wastewater Operator I, II, III or IV. This individual will report to our Verrado site.
This individual will perform semi-skilled and skilled work in the operations and maintenance associated with any of the three major Central Division water reclamation facilities. They will assist in the start-up of our new facilities. Assist other wastewater operators with performing skilled operation and maintenance work. Perform plant operations duties including checking, troubleshooting, and improving wastewater pumping and treatment facilities. Function as the lead operator and see projects through from start to completion. Monitor and lead operations by analyzing chemical processes, canvassing facility equipment, telemetry, and the process verifying and ensuring industry standard performance parameters; performs various functions in plant process control.
What you’d be responsible for
- Promotes associate development by assisting operations staff with training and attending seminars including safety, preventative maintenance and system operations.
- Receives job assignments through work orders and verbal instructions from the Operations Supervisor and/or Manager.
- Expects to carry projects through to completion, resolving most problems independently.
- Participates by a method of hands-on work, prioritizes work and decides what equipment, materials, and personnel resources are needed to accomplish work assignments.
- Monitors work-in-progress to ensure timely completion.
- Inspects projects upon completion to verify that all aspects of the job have been performed properly.
- Provides leadership and direction to the wastewater plant operations staff.
- Reads and interprets wastewater facility plans; contacts suppliers, vendors and contractors to coordinate work/projects.
- Completes purchase requisitions, maintenance records and other required reports, requires overseeing equipment check sheets, and performs other work as required.
What’s required to be successful
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of one (1) years hands-on experience in Wastewater operations with a focus on maintenance and operations.
- Current ADEQ Grade 1, 2, 3 or 4 Wastewater Treatment Operator certification
- Maintain a valid Arizona driver’s license and have a good driving record.
- Ability to be on-call weekends, nights and holidays.
- Knowledge of all aspects of maintenance associated with water production and wastewater treatment operations.
- Knowledge of safety practices in the operation of mechanical and electrical equipment used in water and wastewater facilities.
- Ability to lift and move materials of varying degrees in weight.
- Ability to perform heavy maneuvers, stand, bend, stoop, and to climb up and down stairs.
- Ability to operate company motor vehicles and equipment.
- Ability to work outdoors under all weather conditions including summer heat.
