We’re seeking a skilled Field Service Foreman to join our team. In this role, you will lead daily field operations, including meter reading and customer service activities. You’ll play a key role in ensuring billing accuracy, maintaining regulatory compliance, and upholding operational standards while championing a strong safety culture. You will combine your technical expertise, leadership skills, and operational oversight to deliver reliable, high-quality water utility services and support an efficient field team.

What you will be responsible for

          Lead, supervise, and support Meter Readers and Field Service Representatives, including     training, coaching, and performance management.

          Monitor and evaluate daily field operations to ensure productivity, accuracy, and compliance with company policies and regulatory standards.

          Analyze reports and operational data to identify trends, improve performance, and maintain accountability.

          Develop and manage maintenance schedules for meter boxes, including repairs, replacements, and reporting of water loss or system issues.

          Resolve customer concerns, meter access challenges, and technical issues related to meter reading systems.

          Promote and enforce a safety-first culture by reviewing Job Hazard Assessments (JHA) and ensuring safe work practices in the field.

          Oversee work order quality, routing efficiency, and service completion standards.

          Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address system issues and improve overall operations.

          Perform additional duties as assigned.

Travel Requirements

There is frequent travel within the service area; occasional travel outside the service area including possible overnight travel.

 

What you need to be successful

          Minimum of 5 years of experience in meter reading, field service, or customer service operations, with leadership responsibilities preferred.

          New Mexico Level III Water Distribution certification required.

          High school diploma or GED required.

          Valid New Mexico Driver’s License.

 

          Strong understanding of water meter operations, equipment, and field service practices.

          Familiarity with handheld and radio meter reading systems.

          Knowledge of maintenance tools, equipment, and basic repair procedures.

          Leadership skills including supervision, coaching, and performance management.

          Understanding of safety regulations, hazard assessments, and safe work practices.

          Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
