Highlight of the job

We are hiring a Human Resources Specialist to join our expanding organization, working out of our US corporate office in north-central Phoenix. 

This individual will provide support to our HR team and EPCOR’s growing US workforce of 600+ employees, in areas including recruitment, onboarding, employee rewards and recognition, reporting, and training coordination.

What you’d be responsible for

  • Perform onboarding activities for new employees including coordinating new hire paperwork, ordering computer and cell phones, requesting network set-up, Oracle and folder access, Purchase Cards and supporting other related new hire needs. 
  • Assist Talent Acquisition team as required, including position creation and coordination with Payroll for new hires.
  • Prepare new hire items including New Employee Toolkits, Log-in Information sheets, Organizational Charts, coordinate office space if needed.
  • Conduct New Employee Orientation (both in person and virtually)
  • Prepare documentation for transfers, rate changes, manager changes, or other personnel actions.
  • Problem solve any issues related to new hires onboarding or set up issues.
  • Assist with monthly Headcount and month-end reports
  • Perform data requests for information ensuring high level of accuracy from various sources.
  • Prepare and process Employee awards (service awards, SPOT & other recognition awards)
  • Prepare and process certification pay and tuition reimbursements
  • Schedule and coordinate on-site Certification training in corporate office
  • Reconcile invoices (background checks, staffing agencies, storage units)
  • Primary support to monitor and escalate inquiries sent to the HR Inbox and HR Fax
  • Order and post annual compliance posters for each facility
  • Nominate and facilitate Best Places to Work campaign
  • Support the Summer Student or Intern related programs
  • Take badge photos of new hires; make ID badges
  • Assist Payroll with distribution of live paychecks, assist Accounts Payable with distribution of P-Cards
  • Assist team with career events, health fairs, biometrics events
  • Assist team with employment verifications and unemployment claims

What’s required to be successful

  • Associates degree in Human Resources, Business, Communications or a related field
  • Minimum of four years administrative or human resources experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite including Word, Excel and PowerPoint with the ability to create presentations, organizational charts, data manipulation and pivot tables, v-look ups and Excel reports. 
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks within deadlines
  • Collaborative team player with strong customer service skills to support the managers and employees.
  • Dependable and professional individual who understands the essential need to maintain confidential information.
