We’re hiring up to one (1) full-time permanent Consolidated Financial Reporting Analyst working out of Edmonton, AB.

 

We’re seeking to hire an enthusiastic and experienced financial reporting analyst to join our Corporate Reporting team. As the Analyst, Consolidated Financial Reporting, you will report to the Manager, Consolidated Reporting & Analysis, and you will be accountable for managing and consolidating EPCOR’s monthly financial results across multiple business units. 

What you’d be responsible for

  • Acting as Corporate Administrator for the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software, which includes but is not limited to:
    • Maintenance of the organizational structure, chart of accounts, and financial reports;
    • Coordination of subledger and general ledger period close and consolidation process for both IFRS and Regulatory set of books.
    • Identification and resolution of subledger exceptions in a timely manner; and
    • Assist with ERP testing as required to facilitate new reporting segments and IT upgrades.
  • Supporting the Manager, Consolidated Reporting & Analysis in developing, implementing, and updating the consolidated reporting processes for EPCOR including:
    • Preparation and maintenance of the financial reporting schedules; and
    • Identification and development of process improvements for financial reporting processes; and
    • Coordination with internal and external groups for collecting and providing financial reporting information.
  • Supporting the Business Unit Finance groups by investigating and resolving transactional or financial reporting issues.
  • Preparing quarterly and annual working papers in support of EPCOR’s external reporting requirements.
  • Preparing consolidated budget and forecast working papers including variance analysis.
  • Assisting with migrations in the Adaptive Insights software.
  • Undertaking or assisting with other financial reporting projects as required.

What’s required to be successful

  • Diploma in Business, Finance or Accounting from a recognized educational institution is required
    • Degree in Business, Finance or Accounting from a recognized educational institution is considered an asset
  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience in a business setting with strong knowledge of the accounting cycle and financial systems
  • Basic understanding of accounting concepts and experience with consolidation in an ERP system
  • A minimum of two (2) years of hands-on Oracle Financial Applications (preferably including general ledger) experience
  • Experience with Adaptive Insights is considered an asset
  • Understands relationship between general ledger and subledgers/subsystems
  • Understands how financial information flows from transaction initiation to reporting of results
  • Strong Excel, Word, Teams and other MS Office application skills
  • Skills with other software tools including data analysis would be a significant asset
  • Attention to detail, critical thinking and project management skills
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills and ability to build effective working relations with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Resourceful and curious in problem solving techniques
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to successfully manage and prioritize multiple, sometimes conflicting, assignments to delivery on-time, on-budget, high quality deliverables

Class: T2

Wage: Starting at $47.18 per hour. Placement is based on qualifications, credentials and experience.

Hours of work: 80 hours biweekly. This position has varying working hours to accommodate the period end close process and migration of Adaptive Insights configuration changes. This includes starting earlier than, or working later than, normal working hours. Advanced notice will be provided in such circumstances.
