Join our Summer Intern Program and gain hands‑on experience in the water utility industry. As an Operations Finance Intern, you’ll support contract review, budgeting, reporting, and financial analysis activities that help keep our operations running smoothly. This full‑time, paid internship is an excellent opportunity to build real‑world skills in a supportive, fast‑paced environment while working alongside experienced Finance, Commercial, and Operations team members.
Internship Dates: June 1, 2026 – August 7, 2026
What you’ll be responsible for
- Assist with reviewing current contracts to help identify operational and financial requirements
- Support budgeting and financial processes for the Operations team, including:
- Helping develop budget and reporting templates
- Supporting the invoicing process by verifying basic terms and preparing supporting documentation
- Assisting with financial analysis comparing expenditures to budgets
- Helping generate KPIs using data analytics tools
- Coordinating with Finance and Commercial teams to support timely financial deliverables
- Preparing weekly expenditure summaries with guidance from the team
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to help address inquiries and resolve simple discrepancies
- Assist with identifying opportunities to improve and streamline budgeting and financial workflows
- Support a variety of daily tasks and special projects for the Operations team
- Contribute to other projects and tasks as requested
What’s required to be successful
- Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a post‑secondary program such as Business, Finance, Accounting, Legal Studies, Economics, or a related field
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365; experience with SharePoint or Oracle financial systems is a plus
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment
- Proactive, collaborative attitude and a willingness to learn
