What you’d be responsible for
- Develop and implement Local government affairs business plan (including mission, vision, values, strategic positioning, operational plan and resource plan) to achieve Company goals in Texas and other operating states.
- Represent EUSA to local government officials (elected and non-elected). Develop and recommend a relationship building and maintenance strategy for EUSA through effective identification, engagement and networking with government officials (elected and non-elected)
- Strategically plan and identify the necessary budget requirements to ensure the provision of effective local government relations services.
- Ensure that Local Government Relations’ strategies are at all times aligned with and support achieving EPCOR’s Long-Term Plan.
- Actively participate in the company’s commitment to a “zero-injury” workplace and assure that safe working practices and rules are followed.
- Work with various members of the public, including contractors, developers, customers, as well as employees at various levels in the organization with patience, attentiveness, clear communication skills, knowledge of EPCOR’s services and messaging, and empathy.

- Cultivating and establishing municipal relations within the State of Texas and other operating states
- Assisting and managing Grant Endeavors
- Other duties as assigned.
What’s required to be successful
- Bachelor's degree in applied Communications, Political Science, Public Policy or a related discipline preferred.
- Excellent quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving skills as well as strong communication skills, solid time management and organization skills.
- Intermediate to advanced skills with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel required.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, strong influencing skills.
- Excellent leadership skills, presence and the ability to deal effectively with and maintain productive relationships with employees at all levels, senior management and various external stakeholders.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as interpersonal skills (persuasion, listening, cooperation and diplomacy) that create an atmosphere of trust and mutual respect among all team members.

- To meet the physical demands required of some positions, candidates must be in good physical condition and willing to work in all weather conditions. Clearance on pre-placement medical and drug and alcohol testing may be required.
