EPCOR is looking to bring on a new Capital Governance and Reporting Manager to our growing team in north-central Phoenix, Arizona. 

  

This is a highly visible role, working alongside company leaders as the Capital Governance and Reporting SME for our major capital projects across EUSA. This role is a uniquely engineered role, combining financial capital governance, compliance, and project management. This person will have the opportunity to design, develop, and implement their very own processes, procedures, and tools for capital governance, develop and train their very own team, and shine when presenting leadership and stakeholders with their very own successes in capital results. 

  

  

What you’d be responsible for 

  

  • Develop, implement and review Capital Governance & Reporting processes to ensure compliance to policies, standards, regulatory requirements and ensure mitigation of risks.
  • Provide updated guidance and applicable training to Project Managers on a periodic basis.
  • Establish, monitor, measure and report regularly on financial performance metrics specifically related to capital project delivery, governance and reporting.
  • Lead the annual Post Implementation Review process and submission for EUSA, facilitate periodic capital meetings (including CIMC and FRC), and leading other ad-hoc capital initiatives (as requested by EUSA Leadership). 
  • Plan and lead the consolidation of all capital inputs for the annual budgeting, forecasting and long term planning processes, along with the capital portions of the rate case applications and regulatory compliance filings e.g. Annual Reports. 
  • Enhance on-going effective positioning and appropriate relationships between the Capital Governance & Reporting function and other departments within EUSA, and in the rest of EUI.
  • In coordination with OPM initiatives, develops, enhances and maintains the processes and systems necessary to develop and maintain strong capital programs and appropriate reporting (SharePoint, Oracle Projects, Capex DB, etc.). 

  

What’s required to be successful 

  

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • CPA, or CMA preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in highly complex accounting or analytical position involving complex accounting (fixed assets, deferred tax, impairment, etc.).
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience with capital projects, project management and working with engineering and operations teams in the projects.
  • Experienced in Microsoft Office Suite, Oracle General Ledger, Oracle Fixed Assets, Oracle Project Management or other fixed asset management software.
  • Experience with difficult reconciliations; fulfilling audit requests; working independently and with others to identify issues and implement solutions.
  • In depth working knowledge of US GAAP, IFRS, SOX, Regulatory and/or Capital Compliance required.
  • Knowledge of regulatory information requirements and some appreciation of customer rate setting environment.
  • Able to develop, implement accounting governance policies and procedures.
  • Able to prepare, analyze, and accurately present stakeholders with financial capital asset data and depreciation for a complex entities working with a fixed asset sub-ledger and general ledger.
  • Strong leadership skills with an emphasis on proactive initiative, team building, knowledge sharing, and decision making.
  • Knowledge of water and / or wastewater utility and or shared service, or multi-company corporation industry desired.
