EPCOR USA is hiring a full time Accountant I, working out of corporate office in the Greater Phoenix Area.

 

This individual will be involved in all phases of the capitalization process and partner with business operations to provide accurate and timely capital reporting information and reports.

What you’d be responsible for

  • Manage the Capital Work in Process (CWIP) report on a monthly basis, capitalizing additions, adjustments, and retirements for all Arizona Regulated Water business units.
  • Journalize additions, adjustments, retirements and other capital adjustments as necessary to support financial statements and ensure regulatory and internal control compliance.
  • Create and manage new and ongoing capital projects within the Oracle Project ERP, ensuring that projects are current and managed appropriately as budgeted.
  • Support regulatory audit and financial statement audit request.
  • Prepare capital balance sheet reconciliations, analyze monthly depreciation on a monthly basis for accuracy.
  • Performs other job-related duties as necessary.

 

What’s required to be successful

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • 1-3 years of professional accounting and finance experience, preferably in a utility environment.
  • Knowledge of fundamental accounting concepts.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite of applications.
  • Strong quantitative, analytical, systemic and problem solving skills.
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Experience with Oracle or other ERP software is desirable.
