Description

The Associate Producer is a creative advertising practitioner with special skills in film, animation and sound. He/she/they are responsible for bringing the creative concept to life via any type of content: TV, radio, social video, digital channels, etc. and by taking part in all production activities including day to day communication within the agency, external director search, studio/supplier negotiation and bidding, pre-production preparation, shooting, recording, editing, versioning and final shipping.

 
Responsibilities:

  • Partners with creative teams (art directors and copywriters) to bring their concepts for TV, content and radio to life. Makes thoughtful creative contributions and works to elevate the concept via the production process.
  • Provides counsel to account management and creative teams on graphics and audio-visual effects that best fit each project’s needs at reasonable expense.
  • Partners with account management teams to plan and implement production budgets/estimates/calendars upon client approval of storyboards, ideas, and/or scripts.
  • Effectively and persuasively presents plans, estimates, timing, etc. to account management and creative teams as well as to the client.
  • Solicits and reviews directors’ reels, provides recommendations for director selection and coordinates final director selection.
  • Solicits bids, reviews, negotiates and selects production vendors/suppliers.
  • Prepares production schedules and final budgets/estimates – obtains approval of all costs prior to any production spend.
  • Assists with coordination of audio work, scenes, music, timing, camera work, and scriptwriting. Understands creative and takes actionable steps to execute every aspect.
  • Assists with selection and coordination of cast principals and/or VO’s.
  • Obtains costumes, props, music or other equipment or personnel to complete production.
  • Manages to approved budget through all phases of production.
  • Directs the flow of production through pre-bid meetings, pre-production meetings, casting, shooting, recording, editing, music, optical, color correction, and final client approval.

Requirements:

  • 1 year of prior work or internship experience within a production department for an ad agency, film or content production company, or TV station. 
  • Strong creative eye for producing visual assets with a creative first work ethic.
  • Technical knowledge of film/video production capabilities and processes.
  • Knowledge of all aspects of production including live-action, stills, animation, digital, etc.
