Account Management – Account Director

As an integral part of the leadership team, you will work closely with the Executive Creative Director, VP, Strategy & Insights, and the Managing Director in setting the direction of the clients business and supporting agency growth.  This individual is responsible for overseeing a large-scale national brand account. You will own leading and directing business efforts and oversee the development and negation of statements of work. A proven pitch record of revenue generation and desire to drive new business growth and client satisfaction is a must.

Our account directors are seen as trusted advisors and know the client’s business deeply. They connect the dots and marshal resources and talent to deliver all aspects of modern marketing. They recognize, contribute to, protect, and most importantly bring to life great creative work and ideas. They lead and mentor their team’s growth and drive teams internally to make things happen so we win for our clients and EP+Co.

 

Expectations and Behaviors:

  • Leverages category, brand and competitive knowledge to generate actionable marketing recommendations for the client.
  • Initiates and guides development of annual strategic marketing communications/advertising plan.
  • Researches and develops an understanding of our client’s industry, competition, customer base, and drivers that impact their business.

  • Generates ideas and initiates programs that drive the client’s business.

  • Shows openness to feedback, new ideas and suggestions from others. Is quick and nimble to implement.
  • Demonstrates an ability to foresee issues makes new and creative recommendations on improvements and proactively prevents obstacles.

  • Studies cutting edge marketing activities across channels and makes recommendations on which activities will provide the client and the agency with the best results.
  • Takes some calculated risks and brings forward creative suggestions and encourages team to do the same.
  • Understands the “why” behind Creative work and client requests and is able to communicate this clearly and efficiently to others.

Desired experience:

  • 10+ years of advertising experience. Advertising agency experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong mentor/coaching experience. Past experience managing multiple people with proven ability to engage and develop a team.
  • Experience across digital and traditional advertising required
  • A strong account management background with past experience managing client accounts and working with C-level clients
  • Proven management and mentorship experience
  • Agency and national brand experience required
  • Retail experience, multi-unit preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications or related field
