Reporting to the SVP, Director of Connections Planning, the Associate Director, Communications Planning is an important driver of any cross-channel campaign or initiative, helping to define channels that best serve the target audience, the brand and the idea. A Communications Planner must be able to think and act strategically, stay on the pulse of competitive and market activities as well as industry and cultural trends. With focus on supporting and growing client success, collaboration across functions within EP+Co to bring cutting edge digital ideas, develop integrated programs, and ultimately help our clients deliver better outcomes by improving awareness, consideration and sales.


  • Concept, architect and execute impactful brand experience where ideas are enhanced by their environments. Display equal passion for cultural and consumer behavior insight, flexing between each to find opportunities for breakthrough work
  • Inspire internal and client teams with how media channels can be used creatively to bring ideas to life. Ensure that the teams have a sophisticated understanding of channels
  • Lead and own connections strategies and deliverables across a variety of outputs, including comms roadmaps, ecosystems or architectures, consumer journey research and analysis and content/social strategies.
  • Develop plans to engage and re-engage targets toward a business goal, using a variety of channels and tactics
  • Work with brand planners to ensure understanding of brand objectives, research, and creative platform so you can create inspiring briefs that work across communications channels
  • Develop strong insights based on deep understanding of media tactics, cultural trends, channel opportunities and consumer behaviors
  • Champion the on-going cross-agency integrated planning process
  • Represent expertise in all channels and working familiarity with all marketing disciplines



  • 7+ years experience with a focus on communications planning or experience strategy
  • A proven track record of implementing holistic communications planning strategies across channels that brings the big idea to life
  • Experience with the integration of digital platforms with creative, media, PR and in store disciplines toward a singular strategic communications approach.
  • Track record of successful and productive relationship management with agency partners
  • Thorough knowledge of the dynamics of channels. How each media element performs alone, how they perform together and how they are constantly changing
  • A passion for culture, trends and motivations in consumer behavior which inform and impact channel strategies
  • Kindness, self-motivation, entrepreneurship, and innovative thinking are important personal characteristics that will make a difference
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Advanced Skills with Research tools like Simmons, MRI, Brandwatch and Helixa
