Senior Brand Planner

We're looking for a Senior Brand Planner to work on any number of iconic brands on our eclectic roster. This individual will collaborate with the client and EP+Co staff to guide positioning and messaging strategies, as well as strategic and tactical marketing communications plans. They will also stay invested in providing input throughout the creative development process to ensure all client deliverables are “on strategy”. 

We are looking for someone who can work closely with creative and account partners to uncover brand truths and consumer insights that translate into brand and business strategy, and inspire creative briefs. Each of our Brand and Connections Planners at EP+Co is trained on a suite of primary research tools that allow you to bring the consumer into the process, whether you’re exploring shifts in high-level business strategy, confirming hypotheses to inform a creative brief, guiding creative development, or seeking a deeper understanding of consumer sentiment after a brand action or incident.  

Your Impact: 

  • Strategically guide the agency in all facets of current and potential client business
  • Work with the client to provide strategic thought leadership and business acumen both within and beyond the communications process
  • A process-driven approach to strategy, and the ability to craft POVs that build client trust, respect, and relationships
  • Can think “big picture” ideas and granular in the same day, maybe the same hour
  • Collab with research teams to define research objectives
  • Ability to analyze the research and use it to develop presentations that feature insights that will spark the brains of the creative teams
  • Understands what researching and solving ad hoc problems means
Your Experience:
  • 5+ years of experience in at least one aspect of strategic planning or related field
  • Familiarity with most forms of quantitative and qualitative research methodologies and working knowledge of when and how to apply them to a given client challenge
  • Ability to work directly with clients and develop relationships accordingly on behalf of the agency
  • Management of planners and associate planners
  • Demonstrated talent for abstract thinking, spotting trends and patterns, an innate curiosity and insight into human behavior, an instinct for popular culture, and a nuanced understanding of creative work are critical
  • The ability to work across different groups and disciplines is key to their success, as is their judgment in pushing the work, elevating the ambition of a brand, and leading the client’s thinking about the potential of their business
  • This role is the transition period from being a day-to-day planner to becoming a planning director with full responsibility for an account
