POSITION SUMMARY

EO is seeking a senior operator to oversee the day-to-day performance of our data ecosystem and deliver actionable insights at scale. EO serves a global network of entrepreneur members through a chapter-based model spanning multiple regions; this role ensures that the data infrastructure, member lifecycle metrics, and renewal performance signals powering that network are reliable and decision-ready.

You will lead the Data & Insights team, ensure our integrated data infrastructure (referred to internally as the “Data Spine”) is reliable, aligns systems & stakeholders, and provide high-confidence, auditable KPI reporting that enables mission-critical decisions across a global nonprofit.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Data Governance & System Stewardship

  • Establish and chair the cross-functional Data Review Board to resolve cross-organizational metric definitions and schema discrepancies.
  • Establish and maintain the business KPI glossary and metric lineage; publish change logs and release notes.
  • Working with stakeholders across the organization, build enterprise alignment around shared definitions of success, proactively managing tradeoffs and conflicts across functions and regions.
  • In partnership with Technology, develop and maintain data governance protocols covering access, retention, and quality controls.
  • Business Intelligence Delivery
  • Oversee the team that manages end-to-end delivery of executive dashboards and operational reports, mentoring them as needed.
  • Guide the Analytics team to translate leadership questions into technical work orders and executive-level reporting (tickets, user stories, acceptance criteria, insights).
  • Embed the enterprise KPI framework into monthly, quarterly, and annual operating and reporting rhythms, shaping executive narratives and decision-ready insights tailored to different leadership audiences.
  • Serve as the final quality gate for KPI accuracy and confidence across Executive, Board, and Chapter reporting.
  • Deliver enterprise performance reporting and insights the executive leadership and the Global Board, providing data-informed recommendations where appropriate.

 

Analytics Strategy & AI Governance

  • Prioritize and resource ad-hoc deep dives with the team to explain variances and emerging trends.
  • Partners with senior staff and member leaders to interpret performance signals, distinguish noise from insight, and frame implications for future strategy and resource allocation.
  • Provide clear, actionable recommendations on AI strategy, identifying where AI can improve business intelligence and where it introduces risk.
  • In partnership with Technology, set guardrails for AI usage—including PII handling, model transparency, accuracy thresholds, and exception routing (e.g., when AI-flagged anomalies must be human-reviewed before surfacing to leadership).
  • Ensure AI-generated insights reinforce—not obscure—strategic intent, executive accountability, and enterprise performance standards.

 

Adoption, Enablement & Change Management

  • Develop Data Playbooks and role-based training for staff and volunteer leaders.
  • Establish feedback loops (NPS, office hours, enhancement queue) and drive iterative improvements.
  • Lead enterprise change adoption by influencing leaders at all levels to shift behaviors toward consistent, data-informed decision-making.
  • Build strong, trust-based relationships with global, regional, and chapter stakeholders to increase confidence, adoption, and shared performance expectations. Integrate performance standards into strategic and annual planning & cross-functional initiatives.

 

Vendor & Budget Management

  • Supported by Technology, serve as the Business Product Owner for BI and data platform vendors; negotiate SLAs and hold vendors accountable to performance commitments.
  • Own the operating budget for the Data & Insights team.
  • Evaluate and recommend vendor and platform decisions through both operational and strategic lenses, ensuring long-term scalability and alignment with EO’s priorities.

 

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED

  • 8–10 years in data/analytics roles with 4+ years leading high-performing teams.
  • Demonstrated ownership of enterprise KPI frameworks, data quality programs, strategic execution and executive reporting.
  • Hands-on familiarity with a modern data stack.
  • Experience with data governance, access control, and audit readiness (e.g., GDPR, data retention).
  • Strong stakeholder management experience across the organization, with specific experience working with Finance, Technology, and Membership/Programs in a global context. Experience translating between technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to partner with executives to shape strategy, influence decisions, and drive organizational alignment through data.
  • Track record of using data storytelling to persuade, align, and drive action at the executive or board level.

 

POSTING DISCLOSURES

  • Compensation: EO reasonably and in good faith expects to pay between $130,000 and $155,000 per year for this position upon hire. Final compensation will depend on skills, experience, internal equity, and work location.

  • Other Compensation: This position is not eligible for bonus, commission, equity, or other incentive compensation.

WORK ENVIRONMENT / PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • This role is primarily sedentary work and requires regular use of a computer, telephone, and video-conference platforms.
  • The role requires the ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally and to participate in virtual and in-person meetings.
