POSITION SUMMARY
Entrepreneurs’ Organization (EO) seeks a Director of Brand Journalism and Thought Leadership to join the Global Marketing + Communications team. This role is pivotal in shaping and communicating EO's narratives, utilizing various media platforms and executive voices to elevate the organization's brand presence. Reporting to the Senior Director, Global Brand Communications, the Director will develop and implement brand journalism and thought leadership strategies, working both as a writer and editor overseeing content from staff, agencies, and freelancers.
 
The ideal candidate will have a solid background in journalism, with experience in C-suite communications and a deep commitment to accuracy and storytelling. This role requires a strategic mindset, exceptional writing skills, and a respect for diverse voices and multicultural perspectives. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
CEO and Executive Thought Leadership:
  • Develop and execute strategies to elevate the visibility and thought leadership of EO’s Chief Executive Officer through ghostwritten or edited articles, social media posts, and talking points for public speaking engagements or interviews.
  • Create and coordinate thought leadership content that empowers EO’s executive team and member-leadership team to effectively communicate key EO initiatives and achievements.
Content Creation and Editorial Oversight:
  • Author a range of written materials, including blog posts, case studies, whitepapers, annual reports, and news releases, ensuring alignment with EO’s brand messaging and voice.
  • Serve as the top copy editor across the team, managing the content review process to ensure consistency in EO’s brand narrative, voice, and positioning across all communications, including newsletters, corporate biographies, and press releases.
Support for Public Speaking and Events:
  • Research and develop scripts, speaking notes, presentations, and other materials to support the CEO, CMO, and Global Board Chair in external speaking engagements, including keynotes and panels.
  • Storytelling and Narrative Development:
  • Regularly track and analyze organizational growth and member/customer insights to identify news and story angles, structuring them into compelling narratives that highlight EO’s impact and reach.
Cross-Functional and Global Collaboration:
  • Work closely with global team members to gather and share updates that celebrate regional and chapter successes, such as milestone anniversaries or achieved targets.
  • Stay informed on current events within EO’s global community, as well as broader geopolitical, business, technology, and entrepreneurial trends, to inform brand communication efforts.
  • Ensure CEO and Global Board Chair messaging is effectively translated for global audiences as required. 
 
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field.  
  • 10+ years of combined experience in strategic communications, corporate communications, journalism, or news copy editing.
  • Experience in a heavily matrixed organization; international team experience is a plus.
  • Proven ability to advise senior managers and shape communications strategies and plans.
  • A strong interest in business, entrepreneurship, and leadership trends.  
  • Demonstrated success capturing a thought leader’s voice in written materials, with a preference for experience as a speechwriter for C-level executives, political figures, or other visible leaders.
  • Exceptional relationship management skills to build rapport, trust, and confidence with key stakeholders.
  • High degree of professionalism and judgment; ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Proficient in digital collaboration and project management tools such as MS Teams and Monday.com.
  • Experience managing multiple complex projects with high attention to detail.
  • A self-starter who thrives in remote-work environments and drives clarity around narratives, goals, and timelines
 
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This position is fully remote with hiring preferences based in US.
