Job Description:

We are seeking a highly motivated Sr. Digital Design Engineer for our new Frederick, MD location. The incumbent will work with our dynamic and growing Advanced Technology Group (ATG) focused on cutting edge research and development with immediate and visible real-world applications benefiting our customers. The incumbent will enjoy working with a top-notch multi-discipline engineering team to provide solutions.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop software and firmware implementing signal processing algorithms for cutting edge communication waveforms on FPGAs, embedded processors, desktop processors, and DSPs.
  • Create verification test plans for simulation through hardware and live over the air testing
  • Develop test plans and test software in Python or other high-level languages for verification of communications waveforms
  • Work with other team members and customer to perform integration and test

Job Requirements:

  • BSEE/BSCE or higher
  • Familiarly with Xilinx or Altera/Intel FPGA and SW design tools (Vivado, SDK, SDAccel, SDSoC, HLS, ISE, Quartus, Platform Designer/Qsys)
  • Experience in VHDL/Verilog and C/C++ coding
  • Experience in OpenCL is a plus
  • Experience with or exposure to RF, digital communication, signal processing blocks such as filters, synchronization, estimators, and mod/demod
  • Understanding of wireless communications theory and protocols is a plus
  • Experience in the satellite communication industry is a plus
  • Knowledge of DDR Memory, Microprocessors, DSPs, DMA, Ethernet/MAC, ADC/DAC, etc hardware blocks 
  • Knowledge of IP network protocols is a plus
  • Experience in Python, Matlab, and other high-level languages for modeling and test automation
  • Working-level knowledge of basic hardware design
  • Creative and able to think on your feet
  • Enjoy working with a top-notch engineering team to solve challenging problems
  • Ability to tackle low- and high-level problems with creative and effective solutions while keeping an eye on the end goal
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Ability to obtain a Secret or higher clearance
  • Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen and a comprehensive background check
