Job Title: Sr. Network Automation Engineer 

Job Location: Augusta, GA / Remote

FLSA: Exempt

 Job Description:

We are looking for an analytical, results-driven Sr. Network Automation Engineer who will work with team members to troubleshoot and improve current automated processes. The Sr. Network Automation Engineer will use his or her understanding of programming languages and tools to analyze current code and industry developments, formulate more efficient processes, solve problems, and create a more seamless experience for users. This individual should have excellent communication, computer, and project management skills.

To succeed as a Sr. Network Automation Engineer, you should be focused on building a better, more efficient process and creating a better end-user experience. You should be knowledgeable, collaborative, and motivated.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Analyze processes and data, review current code to troubleshoot problems and identify areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with other team members to establish objectives and design more functional, cohesive processes to enhance the automation environment.
  • Develop ideas for new projects, products, or features by monitoring industry developments and trends.
  • Record data and report it to proper parties, such as clients or leadership.
  • Participate in continuing education and training to remain current on best practices, learn new programming languages, and better assist other team members.
  • Taking lead on projects, as needed.

 Job Requirements:

  • Active Secret Clearance, with the ability to gain Top Secret (or have had an active Secret Clearance within 2 years)
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer programming, computer science, or a related field
  • 3-5 years of experience required
  • Experience with programming languages such as C#, Java, Perl or Python
  • Should have experience with either Chef, Puppet, Ansible or Saltstack
  • Experience with either AWS or Azure
  • Experience working with Linux and Windows server
  • Understanding of version control such as Git, Subversion or Perforce
  • Familiarity with Cisco or Juniper networking a plus
  • Exposure to using LaTeX and bash scripting a plus
  • Focus on efficiency and process improvement
  • Excellent project and time management skills
  • Strong problem solving and verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently or with a group

Special Requirements:

  • Some travel may be required
  • Willingness to work flexible hours
