Job Title: Digital Design / FPGA Engineer
Job Location: Frederick, MD or Peachtree Corners, GA
FLSA: Exempt
The FPGA/Digital Design Engineer will work with the dynamic and growing Advanced Technology Group (ATG), focused on cutting edge research and development with immediate and visible real world applications.
- Develop software and firmware implementing signal processing algorithms for cutting age communication waveforms on FPGAs, embedded processor, desktop processor, and DSPs.
- Create verification test plans for simulation through hardware and live over the air testing
- Develop test plans and test software in Python or other high-level languages for verification of cutting edge communications waveforms
- Work with other team members and customer to perform integration and test
- BSEE/BSCE
- 5 + years of related experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
- RF and digital communication experience-preferred
- Creative and ability to think on your feet
- Enjoy working with a top-notch engineering team to solve challenging problems.
- Ability to tackle low- and high-level problems with creative and effective solutions while keeping an eye on the end goal.
- Python, Matlab, and other high-level languages for modeling and test automation
- VHDL and C coding development experience Experience in satellite communication industry Knowledge of IP network protocols is a plus
- FPGAs, DDR Memory, Microprocessors, DSPs
- Working level knowledge of basic hardware design
- Wireless communications theory and protocols
- Experience with signal processing blocks such as filters, synchronization, estimators, and modulators/demodulators
- Xilinx FPGA and SW design tools (Vivado, SDK, SDAccel, SDSoC, HLS, ISE)
- Intel FPGA Design tools (Quartus, Platform Designer/Qsys, OpenCL)
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- Ability to obtain a Secret or higher clearance
- Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen and a comprehensive background check
