Description

Internship Project: Super Box for Hardware Testing
Enphase Energy is opening applications to our Summer Internship Program.  This usually runs between mid-November to Mid-February.

Enphase Energy is a global energy technology company and a leading provider of solar, battery, and electric vehicle charging products. Founded in 2006, our innovative microinverter technology revolutionized solar power, making it a safer, more reliable, and scalable energy source. Today, the Enphase Energy System enables users to make, use, save, and sell their own power. Enphase is also one of the most successful and innovative clean energy companies in the world, with more than 80 million products shipped across 160 countries.

Join our dynamic teams designing and developing next-gen energy technologies and help drive a sustainable future!

Project Description:
This internship centres on the design and development of a high-performance relay/contactor “Super Box” — an advanced, all-in-one test fixture engineered to automate and simplify low-frequency Design Verification Testing (DVT) for power electronics systems. The goal is to consolidate complex wiring setups and fault condition simulations into a single, modular unit that supports a wide range of electrical tests.

Interns will play a key role in the full lifecycle of this project — from schematic design and component selection to prototyping, automation, and test software framework integration — gaining hands-on experience with real-world engineering challenges and contributing directly to product reliability and compliance.

What we are looking for:
We’re seeking a sharp, hands-on Electrical Engineering intern with a passion for solving real-world challenges through smart design and automation.

Ideal candidates will bring:
  • Strong foundational knowledge in circuit design, power electronics, and electrical safety principles
  • Analytical thinking to interpret test requirements and translate them into robust hardware solutions
  • Interest in automation and test system integration, including basic familiarity with microcontrollers and Python would be helpful
  • Clear communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and document design decisions effectively
  • If you’re ready to turn theory into hardware and make your mark on a real engineering challenge, we want to hear from you.
What you can expect:
This internship offers a unique opportunity to move beyond the textbook and into the heart of real-world engineering.
  • Hands-on hardware development — from concept to prototype, you’ll work directly with relays, contactors, and test instrumentation
  • Technical mentorship from experienced engineers who will guide your design thinking, troubleshooting, and system integration
  • Exposure to full-cycle engineering — including requirements analysis, schematic design, wiring, testing, and documentation
  • Growth opportunities through feedback, learning sessions, and the chance to explore adjacent areas like firmware, test automation, or safety compliance
Whether you're looking to sharpen your technical skills or explore the intersection of design and testing, this internship will challenge you, support you, and help you build something that matters.

Your application must contain the following:
  • A compelling cover letter explaining why you would be the best person for this project
  • Your latest academic transcript
