About the role:
 
As a Staff Compliance Test Automation Engineer, you will ensure that products developed or managed by Enphase have been tested to agreed test plans and relevant national/international standards by helping Compliance Engineers with testing and certification efforts. This role supports Grid inter-connection testing (IEEE 1547) and Hardware Design Verification and will contribute to our business best practice of ensuring efficient, safe, and reliable systems through regulatory compliance testing and certification.
 
What you will do:
 
•    Own defining the requirements in ERD, MRD and SRD to ensure products are designed to meet the target market grid requirements
•    Interpretations of grid compliance requirements to design and FW teams throughout product development stages
•    Be a product compliance expert and work cross-functionally to develop grid compliance requirements.  
•    Perform and oversee product verification tests (DVT) and compliance testing to ensure full compliance with target markets.
•    Manage and work with NRTL to produce grid performance test plans, test reports, and certifications.
•    Be a cross-functional team leader to achieve compliance timeline and certification deliverables.
•    Be proficient in developing automation test scripts using Python that control test instruments like Grid simulator, Power Analyzer, Oscilloscope, SAS, Programmable loads, and CAN/Zigbee communication interface protocols.
•    Troubleshoot, analyze, root cause, document, and present the issues to leadership using JIRA and triaging.
•    Work with the cross-functional engineering teams to help find the gaps/pitfalls in the product design to meet global market requirements.
•    Be a team Champion of have a strong understanding of the following test standards:           
    —UL1741, UL1998, IEEE 1547, AS/NZS 4777.2 and EN 50549
 
Who you are and What you bring:
 
•    BS or higher in electrical engineering/related field with 10+ years of proof of exceptional product grid related compliance and regulatory skills.
•    Hands-on experience with mechanical and electrical systems and a strong understanding of how to solve complex product grid related compliance challenges.
•    Hands-on experience with Test equipment: O-scope, Power Analyzer, Hi-pot, High Current/Voltage Source, DAQ systems, thermal chambers, RLC loads, etc.
•    Detailed knowledge of relevant National, UL, International, Grid connection and National Electric Codes standards. Knowledge of IEC and EN standards would be an advantage.
•    Experience with electrical safety testing using high current switch controls, high voltage DC sources, and thermal testing chambers.
 
The base salary range for CA candidates is $135,000 to $190,000. This salary range may be modified in the future. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, education or training, work location, and market conditions. This position is also eligible for bonuses, equity, and benefits.
