The Director, Codes and Standards will have an understanding and working experience with technical groups chartered with the development of new Codes and Standards. Responsibilities include attending working group meetings, reviewing proposals, writing comments and reporting on issues that may impact Enphase products. In this role, you will write and review technical papers to explain how Enphase products meet current codes and standards. Interact with inspectors and authorities having jurisdiction to explain how Enphase products are designed, built and certified to meet all relevant codes and standards.

- Monitor the activities of the National Electric Code (NEC) activities including reviewing proposals, writing comments, and attending Code Making Panel meetings
- Attend Underwriters Laboratory (UL) Technical Committee (TC) meetings. Participate in development activities while reporting on issues that impact Enphase products
- Monitor and participate in the development of Canadian Electrical Codes and standards.
- Attend IEEE standards activities as it relates to electrical systems with distributed generation. Participate in standards development, influence writing groups to consider microinverter and energy storage technology. Report on issues that may impact Enphase products
- Monitor International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) and Technical Advisory Groups (TAG) standards development activities. Assist with proposal reviews, writing comments and attending meetings
- Interpret NFPA, ICC installation codes and develop technical arguments supporting the application and installation of Enphase products into local Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJ)
- Write and review technical paper interpreting IEEE, UL, and IEC compliance, and applications of Enphase products into the field
- Act as a technical resource to Field Application Engineering, Customer Service and Sales. Help them with questions from the field. Spread technical knowledge to the groups to improve their technical understanding
- Perform gap analysis on new standards
- Work with Product Line Marketing, Product Verification, Engineering, and System Engineering to understand the future changes in the codes and standards and any potential impact on Enphase products
Who You Are and What You Bring
- Working with standards groups such as, NFPA, UL TC, IEEE WG, etc, to develop new standards
- Experience with European and Asian standards, such as, EN and IEC standards, are a definite plus
- Solid understanding of NEC, IFC, IRC, UL 1741, IEEE 1547, UL 9540/A/B
- Good verbal and writing skills. Examples of previous publications a plus
- BS/MS EE or equivalent
The base pay range for this position is $150,000 to $190,000 per year. This salary range may be modified in the future. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, education or training, work location, and market conditions. This position is also eligible for bonus, equity, and benefits.
