About The role :
Global Indirect Tax Associate Manager will be involved in all aspects of indirect tax cycle, reporting directly to Global Indirect Tax Senior Manager (based out of the Netherlands). This role includes, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities:
- Support international indirect tax operations with Enphase Energy. This includes the following:
- Indirect tax (VAT / GST / SUT) compliance, specifically the pulling, testing, automation and transformation of required compliance data, ensuring the timely submission of all filings in EMEA and the US.
- Preparation of month end journal entries and GL reconciliations.
- Automating internal indirect tax functions and processes using technology.
- Assisting with setting up end to end systems and processes for collecting indirect tax in new jurisdictions.
- Partner with IT on system configuration to determine indirect tax treatment of new
product lines.
- Partner with IT on system design, configuration and implementation with respect to Business to Government reporting requirements e.g., SAF-T, SII, e-invoicing etc.
- Build and maintain specific indirect tax analytics using technology.
- Partner with IT and tax engine providers to assist with system testing and implementing system updates to accommodate new product lines and new tax requirements
- Automating policies and processes in the context of the company's growth to mitigate risks and help ensure timely and accurate reporting.
- Automation of the indirect tax accruals and associated rollforwards.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of indirect tax experience including technology experience.
- Prior experience with a global accounting firm including experience with global indirect taxes.
- Experience with automating indirect tax compliance processes, e.g. Alteryx, robotics.
- Prior experience in building robust data analytics using Tableau, PowerBI or similar for indirect tax processes.
- Experience in accounting for indirect tax activities under US GAAP principles.
- Experience with billing/ERP systems and tax engines and reporting systems (e.g., Oracle, Avalara), including configurations to ensure appropriate transaction-level reporting.
- High level of detail and process orientation.
- Continuous improvement mindset to bring best practices and efficiencies to flex with growing requirements.
- Effective written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Indirect tax specific qualifications preferred.
