You will work in a team of Mechanical Engineers who design and develop state of the art Next Generation Solar Technologies related products as well as work on day-to-day support of released products and cost reduction projects.
You will be applying your in-depth knowledge and experience in electro-mechanical product development to the detail design and development of products that use polymers, metals and rubbers and which closely interface with PCBs and high-power electrical components.
You will be working closely with team members across our global development team, so your spoken and written communication needs to be clear and effective to be able to present your ideas, your concepts and your feedback.
You will be problem-solving on new product development, identifying and resolving root causes of field failures and implementing effective cost reduction opportunities.

  • Plan, co-ordinate and execute Design and Development Life Cycle engineering activities.
  • Develop products from concepts through iterative design to production launch and ramp.
  • Provide technical leadership and support junior team members’ in learning and development
  • Partners with Program Manager to ensure projects are delivered on time and within product cost targets
  • Collaborating with cross functional teams including mechanical, hardware, testing, sourcing, manufacturing, and service engineers to ensure optimal system design, manufacturing and assemblies.
  • Drive documentation for design, testing and analysis.
  • Owning testing, root cause of test failures, solutions to production problems and field issues.

Minimum Requirements:
  • Hands-on engineering experience and proven track record in Mechanical New Product Development (NPD).
  • Proven experience is taking designs from concept to high volume manufacturing.
  • Ability to solve challenging problems with minimal guidance.
  • Design experience in a wide variety of component manufacturing methods including various high volume manufacturing process such as plastic injection molding, sheet-metal fabrication, extrusion, casting and surface finishing.
  • Expertise in development of DFMEA, design for reliability, design verification and validation.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Experience using SolidWorks.
  • Knowledge of compliance and safety standard.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Engineering Degree (Bachelor or higher qualification) in Mechanical Engineering
  • 12+ years’ experience in product development
