About the role


We are looking for a product manager for our Energy Management System and AI Optimization capabilities. The Enphase Energy Management System is expanding beyond solar and battery solutions. We are integrating smart electric vehicle charging, heat pumps, HVAC devices and intelligent appliances into the Enphase Energy system. Our objective is to provide a system that optimizes the power and energy available for our customers to meet their energy goals i.e. realizing maximum economic savings, reducing their carbon footprint or stabilizing the grid.

The product line manager will work with our current and new customers (e.g. utilities, installers and system owners), sales and applications teams as well as global business development teams in order to specify, develop and position IQ Energy Management and its AI Optimization capabilities as a competitive and market leading product. Introducing new revenue models for IQ Energy Management will be key areas where this role shall lead the product development.
 

The role will report to the HEMS Product Line Manager based in Germany and will require extensive interaction with market and Enphase internal stakeholders in the US, Europe and Australia. Proficiency in English to enable productive cross-functional interaction is, therefore, a necessity.

 

What you will do:

 

Become the main driver of a new energy management product, gather market knowledge and position Enphase in the smart energy sector with all relevant market stakeholders. Become the VOC (Voice of the Customer) for internal stakeholders and shape the design of optimized energy management products and services. Be obsessed with our customers -- who they are, what their needs and pain points are, why they trust certain products and not others and channel these insights to the product management and development teams. Concrete tasks encompass:

  • Own the product for AI-driven optimization and forecasting capabilities of Enphase - including heat pump modeling, smart EV charging, flexible device control and VPP integration
  • Deliver against the HEMS optimization and forecasting product strategy, aligning with corporate goals and market trends.
  • Lead tariff modeling efforts, addressing complex structures like non-cumulative tiering in some US states or demand charges in other regions of the world
  • Manage beta timelines, SOW closures, and vendor collaboration.
  • Interact closely with engineering and data science teams to deliver scalable, intelligent control algorithms.
  • Drive international launches in Europe, Australia and New Zealand and various U.S. States - tailoring offerings to local energy regulations and customer needs.
  • Identify local adaptation need like tariff database integration or regulatory dependencies prior to rollouts
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to validate new models and simulation environments.
  • Conduct market research to understand industry trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape in the flexible energy demand sector
  • Work closely with our cross functional teams in marketing, business development and operations teams to align product development strategies

Who you are and what you bring

  • B. Tech and PGDM from Top Universities
  • At least 3 years of professional experience in a product management or an equivalent functional role is required
  • Experience in e-commerce and associated business strategies as well as pricing models
  • Desire to work in a highly visible and critical role
  • Ability and willingness to work with international teams across multiple time zones
  • Prior experience in battery storage, PV inverter, EV or HVAC domains is a plus
  • Experience in a company that offers energy management solutions with an understanding of the algorithms involved is a huge bonus Experience with simulation modeling, robotics, or IoT systems.
  • Strong skillset in analytical thinking, optimization and machine learning approaches (supervised, unsupervised and reinforcement learning)
  • Familiarity with international energy markets and regulatory environments is a plus
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and strategic thinking skills.
  • Strong understanding of energy tariffs, distributed energy resources, and home automation platforms is a huge bonus
