Embedded Systems Software Engineer

Enphase is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer to be a member of our Storage Business Unit, where we work on our world class Energy Storage System. This role is taking on ownership of knowing the system as a whole. The engineer would own and drive complex problems by working with multi-disciplinary teams.


  • Gain vast knowledge of our complex system that ranges from cloud to gateway, embedded microcontrollers, electrical systems, batteries, and power inverters
  • Investigate problems and develop working solutions in embedded software for production level code
  • Work with and manage cross functional teams to test and troubleshoot issues


Skills, Knowledge, and Special Attributes 

  • BS/MS/PhD Electrical Engineering or Computer Science/Engineering
  • Minimum of 2 years (post-academic) relevant experience 
  • Familiarity with C, C++, and a scripting language like Python or Ruby
  • Embedded Linux experience
  • Working with AC electrical systems
  • Hands-on troubleshooting skills in complex systems 
  • Experience performing root-cause-analysis
  • Experience in source control and documentation practices, such as Git and confluence
  • Experience in issue/bug-tracking systems such as Jira
  • Document solutions and test new firmware designs. 
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work with other teams


Desired Skills 

  • Exposure to ARM based microcontroller systems 
  • Integration of communication protocols, such as Zigbee, Bluetooth, BLE, Wi-Fi, CAN and power line communication
  • Basic knowledge of solar, energy storage, or microgrid products
  • Basic simulation experience 
  • Basic EE skills
