Elliott Aviation is looking for a Non-Destructive Testing Inspector (NDT) who will perform Nondestructive Inspections of aircraft subparts, parts, and assemblies from a variety of airframes in a safe and clean work environment according to manufacturer’s specifications, company approved procedures and customer specifications. Provide guidance and supervision to NDT trainees and Level I personnel.   
  
Key Responsibilities  
  • Standardize inspection equipment, process inspections, evaluate and interpret results for acceptance or rejection, and document results
  • Foster and maintain working relationships with external customers, OEM’s, vendors, etc.  Assist with researching and resolving customer disputes with NDT.
  • Promote growth and development of NDT trainee and Level I personnel in a professional and positive manner. Recommend training needs and programs; identify and recommend technical and non-technical training opportunities for team members.
  • Have familiarity with technique and method scope and limitations. Recommend process improvements to increase efficiencies and quality, reduce costs, reduce downtimes and improve turn-times, standardize work, reduce and eliminate warranty and re-work, utilize innovative technology, etc.
  • Have capability of developing work instructions from approved general procedures in collaboration with the responsible NDT Level III. Have relevant knowledge of product manufacturing and inspection technology. Have familiarity with codes, standards and contractual documents governing the method of examination.
  • Recommend improvements for facilities, tooling, equipment and capital expenditures.  Seeks and evaluates new services opportunities.
  • Meets department’s established productivity and financial goals by promoting safety, quality, efficiency, communication and customer satisfaction.
  
Job Specific Requirements: 
  
Licenses:  
  • Airframe & Power plant Certificate or Repairman’s Certificate required NDT Level II Qualifications and Certification in one or more of the following: ET, MT, UT, PT
  • Qualified Inspector designation - Eligibility for RII designation 
Education and Experience: 
  • Associate Degree in related field or equivalent experience.
  • Five years plus experience in aircraft or accessory maintenance.
  • Thorough knowledge of FARs 43, 91, 135, 145
  • Magnetic particle (530 hours OJT) required
  • Ultrasonic (800 hours OJT) required
  • Liquid penetrant (400 hours OJT) required
  • Electromagnetic (800 hours OJT) required
  • Efficient in Microsoft Windows and Office (i.e. Word, Excel, Project) 
 
Other:                            
  • Ability to attain & retain AOA badge or Airport requirements
  • Must possess minimum tooling required to perform duties assigned
  • Regularly scheduled attendance required
  • Must be able to work various shifts and overtime as directed          
  • Occasional overnight and short notice travel
