About the Role
We’re seeking a Mass Timber Salesperson to lead business development efforts and grow our presence in California’s mass timber market. This individual will identify opportunities, build relationships with industry partners, and help us meet our annual revenue and backlog goals.
This is a high-impact role for someone with deep industry connections and a strong understanding of mass timber systems, design partners, and project acquisition strategies.

Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Sales
  • Lead sales and client development for mass timber projects across California.
  • Build and maintain relationships with GCs, architects, engineers, timber manufacturers, and developers.
  • Drive the Business Acquisition Process (BAP) and improve sales processes to increase win rates.
  • Evaluate project pursuit opportunities and collaborate with leadership on go/no-go decisions.
  • Maintain and report on backlog and pipeline health, revenue tracking, and market trends.
  • Represent Elevated at industry events, networking venues, and in relevant trade organizations.
Strategic Leadership
  • Partner with Marketing and Communications to promote the Elevated brand and tailor messaging to client values.
  • Collaborate with company leadership to develop “must-win” pursuit strategies and improve client engagement processes.
  • Contribute annual business planning and leadership meetings.
  • Maintain a market-specific Touch Matrix and forecasting tools for the mass timber segment.
Talent Development
  • Mentor and train operational team members in business acquisition skills.
  • Identify and coach XL Construction staff for further sales training or leadership development.
  • Support the ongoing improvement of sales processes and lead relevant internal trainings.

Qualifications
Experience & Background
  • 7+ years in construction, forestry, or timber-related industries, including 3+ years in business development or sales roles.
  • Strong knowledge of mass timber building types, project delivery, and construction systems.
  • Proven track record in developing new business and successfully closing deals.
  • Active industry involvement and strong network in mass timber, construction, or related sectors.
Skills & Attributes
  • Excellent relationship-building and communication skills.
  • Strategic thinker with strong analytical and forecasting abilities.
  • Familiarity with California’s construction market, especially the Bay Area.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to thrive in a fast-growing environment.

California Pay Range Disclosure
Compensation for this role will be commensurate with experience and market conditions. Additional compensation may include performance incentives and a comprehensive benefits package. Details will be shared by the recruiter during the interview process.
